We stayed for 8 nights in October. We were given a lovely room on the top floor with our own terrace overlooking the hills surrounding the town. The room was great, with an enormous bathroom and comfortable beds. The service at the hotel was very friendly and professional. The restaurant served the best meals we had during our entire stay...

Our room was upgraded to a suite and we enjoyed having our own outdoor patio area where we could look up the hilly vineyards and see the Jacobskapelle. Lovely breakfasts in the relaxing garden. Room was clean, spacious and the décor was upscale. Didn't really like the window into the bathroom because people in the room can see into the...

Stayed here for one night. It served its main purpose...to have a place to sleep and shower, but that was about it. We were quite underwhelmed with the service. Had a horrible time finding it. Once we reached the area, we attempted to follow the signs, but they seemed to have us going in circles. When we asked one of...

When entering the hotel we did not have any idea what would wait for us inside. It was small resort inside the building with a garden in the backyard. A small reception desk helped with the quick check-in. The rooms were very nice and modern. It looks like all rooms are somewhat different. The breakfast buffet had excellent choices. Service...

Stayed in the Family Suite for 2 nights. Excellent spacious room. Room is on the top level hence ceilings get low but the balcony with lovely views more than makes up for it. Lovely hotel walking distance from the train station. Right in the center of town. Great buffet breakfast with wide variety even for Vegetarians. Courteous helpful staff. Reception...

We enjoyed two nights in this wonderful hotel. The staff could not be any more helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Our room was stunning. The only improvement I could suggest would be air conditioning! We loved the free bike hire and took full advantage of this cycling around and about. Gengenbach itself is the most beautiful village.

This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Gengenbach. Clean, quiet, modern rooms and a very helpful staff were very much appreciated. The feature that sets this place apart from others is a beautiful roof top terrace with a 360 degree view of this charming town (especially wonderful at night). The breakfast buffet was outstanding and extensive enough to...

Traditional property substantially extended provides a comfortable base for touring in this beautiful area. Other travellers have indicated problems with staff not speaking English but there is no such problems with the customer facing staff who were all very helpful and able to easily communicate with us and were well trained and keen to assist when required.. The bedroom was...

Die Reichsstadt exceeded our expectations. We came with a small group of people - all business travelers - and we are all left very satisfied with the excellent layout, decoration, friendly staff and great food. Gengenbach is a lovely old town greatly maintained that we all appreciated and look forward to come back. The hotel rates are surprisingly reflecting a...

Turned up & thought I had the wrong place, beautiful hotel. Was greeted with a free drink each, of anything & bags taken to the room. The room was a treat, neat tidy & clean. Open the window from the top floor, & a great view of the Historical center of town, which some dates from the 12th century. The...
