I went for a 'double date' to the ship with my partner Phillip and our close friend Matthew and his date also called Matthew. We enjoyed a very nice meal with fantastic wine to accompany, recommended by Ellie Clarke. The service from Ellie was great, she was ever so polite to us all evening. We had a great night!

The hotel has a lovely feel to it. We were in a room without a view, sadly but it was beautifully appointed. The staff were lovely (and tried to be helpful). I loved the creaky floorboards and all the interesting art work, posters and antiques all over the place. The food was fab too. Breakfast was brilliant and set us...

Really good pub food and a nice chatty atmosphere. I really enjoyed and recommend the steak and ale pie. Drinks fairly priced considering how much the cost of alcohol goes up each year. The staff were lovely and friendly.

What a lovely place, great views, good service, so clean and what a pleasant atmosphere. Accommodation seems reasonably priced. Our only regret is that we weren't staying and having a meal. Hope to return to rectify that.

We had an excellent meal at the ship restaurant. Me and my partner thought that the service from the barmaids Gabriella & Ashley was brilliant and great table service. We highly recommend coming here.

For many years I have recommended The Ship to friends and visitors, as a restaurant above the rest. Last week, four of us booked our usual table...I won't say which...for an early evening meal. The ambiance was great, a real pub scene with great beer. The serving staff were superb as always, despite a change of personnel. They knew the dishes...

We had lunch here today. The location is brilliant and the restaurant is warm and inviting. Unfortunately my food was very disappointing. I ordered the warm pork loin sandwich, which was cold. Added to this the brioche was thickly spread with butter so I was unable to eat it as it was too greasy - admittedly a personal preference. I...

We went to the Ship Inn on January 2nd a bank holiday where many people had decided to go there for a bite to eat at lunchtime. The manager was very good and very welcoming. The staff were properly trained and knew the menu content. They also anticipated what we ordered with the cutlery provided. i.e. we ordered soup and...

Booked The Ship for evening meal out after Christmas. My partner had the 8oz Rump with hand cut chips which was cooked to perfection. I had the beer battered cod with hand cooked chips and home made tartar sauce again an excellent choice. For desert my partner had the apple/winter berry crumble with ice cream and I had the sticky...

I think this hotel would benefit from some local competition. It's the only hotel in Parkgate so it attracts guests regardless. The hotel in my opinion is just ok for the price. Firstly when you walk through the door you are greeted with the most pungent of fish smells. I love fish, but that smell turned my stomach. It tells...
