Detailed Reviews
This is my third trip to Nidri, and my third time staying at Avra Beach hotel.
Yes, the hotel accomm is basic. However, on this occasion I was given a updated room that had a very modern bathroom. There is plenty of storage and enough space so as to not feel cramped. The attached small balcony faced the car park and garden.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast has all of the basic necessities such as toast, cereal, eggs, bacon, cold meat, vege and fruit. Also available is juice, coffe and tea. Whilst you may not be enraptured by the accomm and breakfast, rest assured the location of the hotel and its proximity to the beach - it’s literally on the beach! as well as the attached taverna serving the most delicious traditional Greek food will draw you in. Hence why I’ve chosen to stay here three times. Thanks to Zois and his staff for making this a relaxing stay

The location of the hotel is very good but the beach is non-existent, uncomfortable and crowded. Unfortunately, the sea is always dirty with motor boats for water sports a short distance from the shore and noise until the evening.
The structure and breakfast are consistent with the category and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Many rooms can only be reached by various flights of stairs, no elevator. Cleanliness acceptable.

The Hotel is in an excellent location. Check in was smooth. There were rolls and water for us in the fridge on arrival. Our room was on the first floor but wasn`t far from the road, a bit dated and the air con was a bit noisy. Had we only been there up to a week it would have been fine but the next day we paid to go into a room on the 4th floor which was much further from the road. It was very modern and the air con was silent. I loved the seperate shower room and tiolet. The rooms are a good size.
The food for an all inclusive is fantastic. The snack bar offered fresh food all day. The wraps were lovely. The Greek and Italian snack bar that was open for most of the day was great. The restaurant food was plentiful and tasty. When things ran out it didn`t take them long to refill it. I found plenty of choice for myself and my Husband. I really liked the themes every night. If you are there for 2 weeks, it is the same the second week but I found I took something different the second week. Being allocated a table at dinner on arrival made it easier too.
The pool area was lovely but we tended to go down onto the beach as the pool area filled up quickly every day. It was only a few steps to get onto the beach.
The Pool bar was well stocked and there was never much of a queue.
Last but not least.... the staff!! What can I say!! Every memeber of staff we encountered were fabulous. The Reception staff were extremely helpful. The bar staff did an amazing job. The waiting staff in all eateries worked so hard and were very friendly. the cleaners were always on the go and the place looked good. The Entertainment team were always very nice and kept us up to speed with what was on. The pool was cleaned every night.
A few things I might have liked was some fresh fruit in the snack bar all day, No Karaoke as an evenings entertainment and a glass in the bathroom.
All in all we would come back and recomment to our friends.

Friendly and helpful staff! Nisei is so peaceful, the hotel is yards from the sea. The outlook is tranquil, serene and picturesque.
Our room was comfortable and we had a spacious balcony as we were on a corner that had all the late afternoon sun.
Breakfast was a bit the same each morning but plenty of it.
Clean throughout and linen changed daily, towels changed unless you left them hanging up on the towel rail.
I would definitely come to Avra beach hotel again, and I recommend May, as nice and quiet before the season gets busy.

First ate here 30 years ago (food was rustic, freshly made & wonderful then, so much so we ate every night for two weeks.)
Then we returned 4 years ago
( I believe still owned by the same family?) it was excellent again & finally we dined there last night which wasn’t great I’m sorry & sad to say 😞
The location is spectacular, right on the beach with an amazing view, car parking is right at the restaurant door too, it’s very clean & the staff are pleasant but unfortunately & I’ve never left a negative review for any business before, the food we ate was disappointing. We’d calamari, spaghetti dishes, roast chicken & steak, none were cooked fresh, a little similar to motorway services quality.
Hopefully it was just a bad night we chose, to be fair the fresh salad dishes that others were eating looked good.
The restaurant wasn’t full, quite a few empty tables (8pm us English eat early?) however you’d think at this time of year & with this location you’d struggle to get in?
Sorry again for this average review, genuinely my intentions are to help, it’s important to know about customer’s experiences in my book.
Good luck!
No idea about price, we don’t look at costs, just want good food whether it’s cheap or expensive 😊

Avra Beach is located at the end of one of the beaches I Nidri, within close walking distance to all the restaurants, bars and shops. Nothing is really far away here.
The rooms are recently renovated, standard European size. They are cleaned every day. There is a fridge and a kettle. You can get A/C, safety box and beach towels for a fee. There are no big bars just next to the hotels so it was nice and quite at night.
Breakfast is fine and served until 10. The hotel staff was taking the COVID-19 regulations serious and serving you the breakfast over a counter so it felt very safe.
Best part of the hotel is the garden/beach, it’s a nice lawn with trees almost all the way down to the pebble beach. So there is plenty of shade to cool down. The sun beds can be rented for 4 EUR. The view is fantastic overlooking some small islands and the mainland. It’s a pebble beach but just after a few steps in the ocean the bottom is nice and sandy.
There is also a restaurant on the premises.
Overall this is a good budget accommodation and we had a lovely and relaxing week.

If I could break down the star rating even further, I'd give it a 3.5. Overall a pleasant hotel with great staff, all very friendly. Cleaners were amazingly efficient, bar staff really friendly, as was everyone to be honest. Food quality was great, though for those staying longer than 7 days, be prepared to be a little bored with the choice and wanting some more variety.
Also a word of caution - the main hotel rooms that we stayed in for the first night (due to our family room not available) was 2* standard at best. I wouldn't be happy if I stayed in it any longer. However the family room (guessing built much later in a separate block) was worthy of the 4* rating and was a pleasure to stay in.
I was surprised it didn't have a gym, since I would expect every 4* hotel to have one. However it never said it had one and wouldn't mark it down as a result.
Location wise, this is great to get around and there's a car rental place on site which I used and was entirely happy with. Allowed us to explore the island a little more. The hotel has a beach front but beware it's a pebble beach which can be a little painful in entering the sea!
Where this hotel loses the biggest marks (and it really shouldn't and is easily rectifiable) is the sunbeds - or should I say the distinct lack of them. The quality what they have isn't great, and they don't have enough. When the hotels full, you're struggling for space. If we weren't down by 9am, we couldn't get a sunbed until around 4 in the afternoon. Its that bad and why I've marked them down. Whilst space is at a premium they did have some space on the beach and a little away from the pool, but no more sunbeds for us to use.
Would I go back? No, since I'm sure for the money I could find other places that I wouldn't have to sit on a chair by the bar for most of the day waiting for a free sunbed.

The result with 5 stars is an overall experience.
The reception at the hotel was top notch. Fast operation. Some salad was also conjured up as we were a bit hungry.
The room was clean and nice, a bit neutral. Overall, the size of the room was okay, but the same could not be said about the bed, which was a narrow one, it was difficult to sleep two ordinary people on it. The same problem with the bathroom, which was familiar to the little ones. When 5 * is given anyway, it is due to an overall assessment. The hotel was nice and clean, breakfast included. which is a plus. There was the expected.
The hotel is best suited for travelers without children as there is not much for them to do. In my opinion, the price of the hotel is too high compared to what is offered.

The hotel is old and the decoration old fashioned as well.
We asked for their best room, with a view and without noise.
We got a room facing the tavern, with noise from the tavern, customers eating till late at night, but also smells from the chimney of the tavern.
The window was dirty and the air condition pretty noisy and old.
I wouldn't choose this overpriced hotel. You could find way better hotels in Lefkada for the price of 80 euros (thats how much we payed....)
We asked to stay more from 12:00 (check out time) till 18:00 and we got charged 60€ extra.
ps. the rooms that are advertized on booking platforms are not the ones. there are two buildings, and the one bulding uper the tavern, is not advertized, and thats the one we got.
Ps2. If you rate them with 1 star, they use your personal date by searching on google about your business, and then they rate you with 1 star as well. Thats what they did to me after my review. Unbelievable. Thats how they work and operate!

First of all I would say that I have mix fillings about reviews but I was positively surprised by kindness, helpful and honest by the stuff of hotel my room was on the top of taverna. I sad to my self will be noisy at night or day? No all time I have sleep well there was no noise or anything's that may disturb my dreams. The breakfast was good enough. I even buy for me lactose fray milk but they told that next time I have to send email to them and they will pay for milk. Sunbeds were enough for all of us. This year was quite busy the beach is rocky when you get in the water was sand. Close to center square and all trips with boats.
