Stayed b& b, booked a double room and got room 6 which should have been a single, no room to pass each other, the room looked tired and not the cleanest place I've been, carpet had numerous stains and the tv screen had some sort of liquid sprayed on it. The bathroom door did not have a handle on the... More

We are sorry you did not enjoy your visit. we will take on board your points and act accordingly as this is not what we expect our guests to experience. We appreciate that room 6 is our smallest double room and we are looking in to this matter at the moment. As for the cleanliness matter this sounds totally unacceptable... More

It is some time since we have eaten in the evening at this Hotel. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely stunning. We had three courses over 2 and a half hours. The time seemed to pass in a flash. Everything was so enjoyable. Thank goodness this is our local of which we shall make more use. Thanks... More

Unfortunately the Northern Sands hotel was disappointing. On arrival the girl at reception was lovely, so absolutely nothing to grumble at there, but upon entering our room we were surprised at the condition of it. I'd read a few reviews discribing the decor as 'a little tired' but in actual fact the condition was pretty appalling. As pictured, there were... More

We are disappointed with this review. The internet issue was an external issue with BT not anything within our control. I felt that your strong demands for compensation were not justified as this was not a hotel matter. As I stated the new system has just been installed and we were waiting to see if there were any teething problems... More

I'm a long-distance walker who was nearing the end of the trek from Lands End to John o'Groats. I needed two nights accommodation that was clean and comfortable and sensibly priced. That was exactly what I got. First of all let's look at the hotel's two really strong points: the quality of its service and the quality of its food.... More

Good hospitality and very good food, sensibly priced .Whilst the pub/hotel is a little tired in all other respect you will not be too disappointed. The nearby beach is wide kong and sandy and great for walking after a long day in the car and do visit Dunnet Head for great views and wartime installations. There is a distillery right... More

Excellent location near beach and Dunnet Head, this is a older hotel but is very clean and welcoming. Staff are excellent with friendly and helpful service. Dinning room has an excellent selection of dishes with a huge choice. Rooms are good with very comfortable beds.

Popped in for lunch whilst on holiday in the area, staff friendly and welcoming. Set menu 2 courses for £13.95, food excellent, haddock so fresh it must have just jumped out the sea and the huge portion of cheesecake was to die for but no good for the waistline😊

Ideally placed on the Scotland 500, hotel offered large, clan and welcoming room and a friendly host and staff. Opted to eat in restaurant and pleased we did. food was excelent. Breakfast next day lived up to same standard and we would happily stay for longer if we are ever in this area again.

we arrived in June for one night, a cold night, there was no heating on in the room when we arrived, so it took a while to warm up, the bathroom had no heating at all. Breakfast was massive and all done fresh to order by the owner, a real treat and made up for the cold room on arrival

Nice room with good service. We were well looked after by Laura at check-in, dinner and breakfast. Food was good value and the breakfast was superb. Next door to the Rock Rose distillery and convenient for Dunnet Head. Room was cramped for 4 people but we managed ok.
