We stayed here for one night after the Abai lodge and before heading to Tabin wildlife reserve. The rooms are basic but clean and we managed fine without aircon. We liked the wearing of sarongs at dinner and it was nice that everyone participated. The food was pretty good and they happily catered for vegetarians. The highlight is the boat... More

We were only one night at the Riverside Lodge - but we wish we had spent two nights so that we could enjoy the wildlife along the river a bit more. There is a lovely "patio" at the jetty where you can just relax under large ceiling fans. The rooms are basic, but clean. Our room was very hot. You... More

Stayed here briefly after Abai Jungle Lodge. Our guide (from SI Tours) offered the chance for a longer cruise to look for elephants, so we only arrived back after dark, and left after an early breakfast the next day. We stayed in rooms without air conditioning, which were comfortable despite the heat. Beds were good, and good insect screening meant... More

My wife and I started our trip down the Kinabatangan at the Abai Jungle Lodge, and then to the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. The wildlife was fantastic, and we were so thankful to have Akok from S.I Tours as our guide. Knowledgeable, gracious, and had a good sense of humour. His ability to spot and identify wildlife was incredible. We would... More

We stayed here two nights as the Base point for sightseeing on the kinabatangan river. As other reviews have mentioned, the room is basic but functional and clean. It's worth noting, we left a window open to try and cool the place down as there was no air con, and it's hot...don't do that. We ended up with a squirrel... More

Dear Tara W, Thank you for your feedback. We always remind our in-house guests to close all the windows before leaving their room to avoid wildlife to explore guests' room, it's a wild jungle with a lot of naughty wildlife here! Nonetheless, we apologize for the hot water issue. It happens sometimes but our maintenance team are always there to... More

During trip to Borneo we stayed in several 5*hotels but this lodge was our favourite place. Very basic but clean . Food was delicious and the staff at lodge and on river boats were excellent . We saw lots of wild life including pigmy elephants but the highlight was a wild mother orangutan and her baby climbing trees and snacking... More

We stayed two nights, the first night the four of us were the only guests. The lodges were basic but functional. Remember to keep the windows closed from the naughty monkeys. Hot water is turned on by a small boiler. Great boat trips from here to see the wildlife around. Best early morning or late afternoon. A small fridge in... More

Spent one night here at this Eco lodge. (only six guests that evening). Deep into the Kinabatangan river. I was pleasantly surprised just how nice the lodge is. there is a dining area and plenty of space to just relax and take in the wonderful surroundings. The rooms were comfortable, safe and this is a great place to explore with... More

This is basic accommodation at its very best! You are right on the river, a stones throw from the rainforest and so we were expecting little more than a room. However, what we got was a quaint, friendly resort which whilst hotter than hell during the heat of the day gave us a great experience of nature and was a... More
