I lived two months in a suite dream of Suite home stephanie. Clean and nice apartment, close to the city. Nice neighborhood. Always easy to come in contact with the landlord in case of questions. Weekly cleaning.

Pros:
* Excellent value
* Common sense approach to hospitality (Our plane was landing early in the day, and instead of merely allowing us to dump our bags, since the apartment was unoccupied anyway, we were allowed to check in early. A HUGE relief). Also, all our queries were always answered very promptly.
* Lovely, comfortable, spacious, quiet apartment, ("Suite Dream")
* Excellent utilities (e.g. 32" TV, DVD player, Nespresso coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, iron, ironing board, refrigerator, cooking hobs, utensils etc.),
* WiFi quality was excellent (and free)

Cons (very minor):

* The cleaners didnt show up one of the days. (We really missed our daily free Nespresso capsules that day :-) )
* The door to the balcony wasnt working. BUT, we didnt expect a balcony anyway so it was really going to be an unexpected bonus
* One soap was provided. We had to ask the cleaners for a shampoo. Would have expected a few more.

Overall: EXCELLENT. Will be back.

What a stress-free, enjoyable, convenient stay we had at the Suite Home Stephanie. Laurent was flexible with us when things suddenly went haywire with our plans, and the cleaning staff was professional and willing to work around our wacky schedule. There are two small grocery stores within about a 3-minute walk, and there's a large Delhaize that's a tram ride and a five-minute walk away. I was able to walk to the royal library, where most of my work was, very easily, and the nearby tram connections make it easy to get to the metro, even with small children who are less eager to stroll the streets of Brussels. This is the first place my family and I will look for lodging the next time we're in town.

Room Tip: We stayed on the very top floor, and there is a flight of stairs between that floor and the last...

In spite of the name, this is not a hotel but an apartment in an apartment building. Although we walked from the flat to central Brussels twice, it is situated quite far from the sites of Brussels, in a shopping and residential neighborhood. The apartment is nicely decorated and very clean BUT...The comfortable bed is in one room with a huge, elegant shower and a lav sink (not a separate bathroom), while the toilet is way down the hall, past an unnecessarily large kitchen (12 cooking knives?), around 2 corners, near the entrance to the flat. Since we have never needed to take a shower in the middle of the night but regularly use the toilet, this layout was less than ideal.
There was insufficient light in the bedroom and makeup areas. The apartment was quiet, however. Overall, the apartment looked pretty and was reasonably functional for the three nights we spent there.

All-round an excellent choice - lots of space, modern decor, clean and great location plus all for the price of a hotel room. We stayed here for family weekend but would also be excellent as business base.

I actually joined Tripadvisor in order to review SHS back in February

Let me reiterate: the reason I'm even on this site is that I was so impressed with this hotel that I had to let other people know.

Since then, my family and I have stayed two more times, and I've found even more things to recommend about this place.

It's just a five-minute (or less, if you don't have small children, like I do) walk to stops for the 92, 94, and 97 trams. The 92 and 97 take you to Wolvendael, which is a huge park and has a great playground. The 97 takes you to Forest Centre, which also has a great playground. The 97 also takes you to a Carrefour market, so if you don't like the small grocery stores nearby or the Delhaize two tram stops away, here's another sizable grocery store nearby.

The convenience of SHS is off the charts: the trams are convenient and timely and take you to the metro (the Louisa stop is one stop away, and you can get the metro there to or from the airport very easily) or key bus stops, the neighborhood is safe and friendly, there are two pharmacies within five minutes on foot (one is only two doors away), two Carrefour express markets within five minutes on foot (one of them has a semi-post office, which is the only thing like a post office I ever found in Brussels), and then that big Delhaize I mentioned just two tram stops away.

And as other people have said, the service here is outstanding--don't be alarmed by the lack of a conventional welcome desk! The cleaning/maintenance guy doesn't speak English but is incredibly friendly and helpful, and Laurent is multilingual and extremely sensitive to the needs of the people who stay here.

I'm so pleased to see that SHS has won a Tripadvisor award for being the best low-cost hotel in the area. It absolutely deserves the award, and frankly, I'm not sure how the other hotels nearby can stay in business.

We're already looking forward to our fourth stay. Don't hesitate to book your first.

I made a booking for my wife and I to stay here for our one-year wedding anniversary. The booking was for two nights but due to a system glitch, when we arrived to get our key, it wasn't there. I'll be honest; we were initially quite upset. We were really tired from having traveled so far, carrying a lot of luggage, and not having a reception desk or anyone to speak to. I called the hotel number and left a message. 5 minutes later, I got a call from Laurent who was extremely apologetic and explained why this had happened. He ended up giving us a bigger room which was bright, spacious, cleverly-designed and fully-equipped for the same price as the room we had originally booked as well as comping one of our nights. The very next day, to our surprise, he left us a note and a box of Godiva chocolates. I have rarely encountered such exemplary and honorable service such that he completely turned our opinions of the establishment around. The amazing facilities were trumped only by the outstanding service of the people running them and we would not hesitate to stay there again. We loved Belgium and will definitely be back to Suite Home Stephanie.

I stayed for 5 nights.
Location is very good. It's only about 5 or 6 tram stops to the heart of the city, which I prefer.
Convenience stores close by. Restaurants close by. The restaurant next door, recommended by Laurent, is excellent! Though they don't have menu in English language, the waitress was very helpful to explain the choices of dish for me.
The flat itself is very good. I don't have any complaints really.
Complimentary coffee for the first day only. And one day I see some fresh fruit on the entrance next to the lift.
During my stay, the towel hanger fell off and I informed Laurent by email. Maintenance staff came to fix it on the same day.

Loved our stay here. 3 of us for 2 nights, in the top floor suite. Large apartment, very high end furnishing, very clean (impressively so) and it even had a large outdoor terrace comfortable for 6 people to hang out in (it was winter, so we couldn't use it, but still). Easy to get keys, room service included, fully stocked kitchen, laundry in the basement, just a great place to stay.

Location is in a very interesting area with a lot of high end shops, bakeries etc. So it's a really nice location, but not that central. A cab to the main tourist sights/nightlife was about 10E (make sure they use the meter!), tram ran until midnight and metro was OK (both metro and tram required about 1 KM of total walking). Walking into town was probably 45 min.

We recently travelled to Brussels for our second trip in several months. We were looking for a place to stay that was comfortable, convenient, clean and, if possible, made us feel right at home. This place does just that. Other reviewers were disappointed that showers have no curtains or that they felt they didn't have enough Nespresso coffee cubes. All of that is true. However, it is rare in my experience to find curtains in European showers. And right down the street is a Paul's bakery with very good coffee. What really makes this place sing is the guy charged with running it - Laurent Goldenberg. He oversees three of the chain's hotels. I can't speak for what it is like in the other hotels, but he does a great job at this one. Whatever questions we had - about the hotel or the local area - he had the answers. He even helped us find a knife we thought we lost!

"We stayed in apartment 32. Nicely appointed. Large living room, a bit noisy in the mornings due to the loud sirens of ambulances and pólice cars. Great kitchenette. Excellent and quiet bedroom and bathroom with lots of light and a very nice view. Great help from very efficient Mr. Laurent Goldenberg."

"The rooms in front are big and well-designed but without double-glazed windows. So you hear sirens, street noises through the night. After the first evening these did not bother us. But if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room at the back. They have a balcony and are quieter. There are 2 washing machines and dryers in the basement, free for residents' use. There was powder as well! All these are very helpful to medium term or long term visitors."
