Probably one of my fav stays in my traveling journeys. When I think of rural Morocco, this was what I had in my mind. Between the traditional landscape and hospitality, combined with attempting to rely on my broken french that I stopped learning 17 years ago...it was a great time. Rooms were fairly basic, but the value and architecture made...

This is a wonderful genuine kasbah built in the 18th century and authentically restored. The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming and is the head of the small village. If you want to stay in a traditional mud brick kasbah in very good condition this is the place. The rooms are of a good standard. Warm room and comfortable beds....

We only stayed at the Kasbah Oulad Othmane for one night before heading back towards the coast. The Kasbah is very well located in the Draa Valley with fantastic views on the mountain and the Palmeraie. The building is extremely peaceful which we appreciated so much as we were extremely tired when we arrived. The building dates from the 18th...

Stayed here one night on our way to M'Hamid. When we arrived by car we were immediately surrounded by 20 or so children from the village begging for money. This made for an "interesting" start and we were doubting our decision to stay here for a second but once we entered the Kasbah all doubts faded. This place is really...

The best place we stayed at during our travels throughout Morocco: a place with history and a very special atmosphere, run by people with an enormous amount of pride. Upon arrival we were given a tour and told the history of this magnificent restored C18th Kasbah. You would be hard-pushed to find a more authentic, welcoming and frankly interesting place...

We spent 3 atmospheric nights at the Oulad Othmane, hosted by the gracious Abdul Majid and his small hard-working staff. This is clearly a man who loves guests – he spent evenings (after serving dinner) sitting with us in the cushioned, carpeted dining salon (no chairs here), and during the day, took guests on a visit of the palmery which...

Fascinating ongoing restoration of a traditional mud walled kasbah, set at the edge of a traditional village. Once a large family house, the building has been transformed by the current owners into a very comfortable hotel with good rooms and bathrooms. And the food is excellent, with a great breakfast roof terrace overlooking the millions of palms. Of course it's...

This Kasbah is incredibly beautiful and in a stunning location, surrounded by a real Ksar of mudbrick buildings, overlooking a large palmery and with desert mountains behind. Its beauty and authenticity also bring the minus points. The owners, are very nice, the food was great and we were given a tour of the palmery. They have embarked on a fantastic...

This is an authentic Kasbah and you are literally transformed back in time. The owner is very friendly and proud to show you around his Kasbah and village. The rooms are basic but clean and the atmosphere is so very different. There is a Mosque directly in front but this adds a certain charm, if not an element of suprise....
