You can walk into Murren but it is a hike. Much easier to take the cable car to Murren (higher) or Schetlberg (lower). Both will provide you with a quick transfer to main train or bus stops. Worth the trip to stay in Gimmelwald - views are spectacular and it is a gorgeous place.
