As Brienz is one of our favourite locations in Switzerland, we spent a week there with our Swiss friends, who had made the booking. Although we were not merely there for a short overnight stay, we were given rooms at the back of the hotel, overlooking the railway sheds of the Brienzer Rothornbahn. Because of this we were awakened early... More

Looking just for a cheap and simple place to stay, I was very impressed with what I got for my money in the Weisses Kreuz. I had chosen a single room in the B&B area - no ensuite - behind the main hotel. It might have been a tad old fashioned, but it came at an incredibly low price, was... More

This is a really nice easy going restaurant / hotel. Nice friendly staff and fantastic local dishes. Be sure to order some ice cream it's homemade and had to be done of the best I have ever had. After dinner you could also take a nice stroll across the road along the lake.

Of the 3 hotels that I have stayed in on my journey this time , this is the only 1 that did not give me any upgrade . Also they advertise that they have free wifi . I found out that the wifi is for select areas of the hotel not the b&b area at the back of the hotel.... More

Great, convenient place to stay. Would visit Brienz again. Lovely little town, nice to get away from crowds. Hotel has everything you would need. Fire alarm went off early morning, but no real panic. Plain rooms, but clean and neat. Restaurant good, meringues for dessert a must.

Our overnight stay in this conveniently situated hotel was perfect for the Rothorn steam train trip the next morning. Clean, good-sized ensuite rooms, though mine overlooked the steam train yard, which meant an early morning awakening by their staff the next day. Breakfast good and ample, but have stayed in Swiss hotels with better breakfasts and a more willing staff.... More

We found the food and accommodations at this Hotel excellent; beds were comfy and the meals excellent. As a surprise, we were welcomed to a concert of folk singers (replete with gorgeous, traditional folk clothing) accompanied by a dozen or so accordionists and other local wood wind instruments. What a happy and surprising delight.

Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel my booking, giving 4 days notice. Also had to cancel 5 other hotels. This was the only hotel that charged a fee and it was the full amount for two days not just the deposit. The warning is if there is any possibility that you might have to cancel up to a... More

We were advised on Trip Advisor to stay in Brienz instead of Interlaken. We are SO HAPPY we made this decision. Brienz was the jewel of our trip in Switzerland. Its a small village which combines everything people come for in Swiss - Mountains, Lake, Railway Station. The hotel is 10m from the station. Just jump skip and hop. Our... More

We stayed here for the Axalp Air show (which was cancelled unfortunately). The beds were by far the most comfortable on our entire European trip! The hotel is directly across the 2 lane street from the train station, and sits atop the local TI. The hotel staff speaks English and was very accommodating and friendly. Our room had a balcony...
