The rooms were tiny, but clean and the bathroom was nice. The owner has very strict rules and is not very friendly. The breakfast was good. It was a short walk from the village and offered stunning views.

Stayed here for 2 nights with Expat bus tour. The hotel has a rustic feel, with basic but spacious bedrooms. View from the balcony was stunning. The owner has some rigid rules, but the overall stay was enjoyable. Best vegetarian food on the whole tour at this hotel!

We stayed two nights at this hotel and sadly, it was two nights too many. My husband and I witnessed the owner and his wife verbally abuse two of our tour mates because their room's shower leaked water onto the floor and into the apartment below. The owner and his wife both admitted to being aware of this issue, yet... More

Stayed here for 1 night whilst on a 3 day cycle tour hitting 4 high passes. Pleasant rooms and reasonable service bus the restaurant was only open for bus tours so no dinner available in the hotel. Pleasant bar & good views, but pretty expensive even for Switzerland.

The views from the Hotel is stunning. The style of the hotel is quaint. Old creeky floors, an old building overall. Very clean and neat and rooms are a comfortable size. The hotel is situated at the top of the village of Wilderswil and is a good ten, fifteen minutes walk from the train station. The food was delicious (traditional... More

Main attraction is the owner is a world ski champion in 1984 whom you will find there. It is an average hotel with shared bathroom. Of course bathroom is maintained clean. Occupancy seems to be not much though the hotel has many rooms. In spite of a big hotel in size, it does not have a restaurant. Moreover there are... More

My wife and I stayed at the hotel Schonbuhl in Arlington June of this year. We were on an Expat bus tour and this was a hotel on the travel agenda. The hotel is old but quaint. The rooms are basic and suitable a short stay. The service at this hotel has no enthusiasm. The owner appears burnt out and... More

We stayed at Hotel Schonbuhl with our tour group and had a wonderful time, the hotel has a great character about it and the owner is also a great character, our tour leader made a bet with us that we could not get him to crack a smile, we won the bet we had him smiling and laughing with us... We stayed at this hotel with a tour group. It's a place that's been in operation for 100 years, lots of character. The operator is a little interesting and has "rules" like you can't bring your phone into the dining room (not even in your pocket). The Wi-Fi is almost non-functional and only works in the lobby. Buy a drink... More

Hotel Schönbühl is a beautiful family-owned hotel atop a hill in Wilderswil with a very homey feeling. It has a rustic feel, almost feels like a gigantic cottage; you can smell the wood. Rooms are very clean and has the basic closet, table & chairs, towels. We got the twin share room, so twin beds freshly made. No bathtub, just... More
