I recently spent a weekend with my daughter at this beautiful hotel at the end of January 2021 for a ski/spa weekend and they exceeded all of our expectations! Their team of staff manage to think of every detail in order to make your stay away from home as wonderful as possible. My daughter used to work in a similarly ranked hotel in the mountains so knew what details to look for. Here are a few of the finer things we appreciated: the friendly, quick and smooth check-in process, the modern, yet rustic and eco-friendly deco of the room, the complementary, delicious, home-made cookies upon arrival, the immaculately clean room and the fine scent throughout the hotel, the Nespresso coffee machine and lovely organic tea, the friendly cleaning staff, spa staff, and restaurant and bar staff (Umberto and Sara 5 Stars service!!), and the style of the breakfast mugs with flower print. The dinners in both restaurants were equally phenomenal, and the breakfast buffet was perfect. They served a delicious, gluten-free granola which I adored! Again, I have to commend the hotel staff for their high standards of achievement, their friendliness and their professionalism. They really go above and beyond to grant your every wish. The spa facilities are beautiful, with a newly renovated pool and enough saunas and steams (nicely scented) for relaxation. It is best to reserve your spa slot ahead of time as Corona requires limited spacing (making it more enjoyable). The hotel is situated right on the nordic ski loop and the ski hill is a short walk or bus ride from the hotel, which is very practical. We also appreciated the discount on the ski pass. Can't wait to return to our favourite Hotel in Switzerland!…
My friend and I spent a weekend in Valbella Resort, in a standard room. First of all the room did not turn out to be like on the pictures on the website- far from modern, not nicely decorated nor well equipped. Apparently this part of the hotel is to be renovated in the future. When we asked at reception, apparently it was already an upgrade from what we had booked... For this price one can get an amazing room in a design hotel with two terraces and Matterhorn view in Zermatt... Perhaps because it is the end of the season, they seemed to run out of decaf coffee (a room has an Espresso machine), when I asked for a tea instead they delivered it in the room but charged extra. Very nice breakfast, home made Youghurt, fresh juice, good selection of cheese, meat, eggs etc,. Just staff running in a super stressful way- this does not help with a nice relaxing Sunday morning. Good the weather was nice and we could benefit from the tennis court being part of the resort. Overall, pretty disappointing, standard below the stars given. …
We stayed 2 nights at Valbella Resort and it was very good. The room was nice and modern. The facilities (pool, spa, etc) were excellent. The breakfast was very good. The only negative was the reception which was a bit disorganised.
In June I stayed at Valbella Resort for two nights, and overall my experience was very pleasant. My room was really great, big and modern (in the house next to the Spa). Breakfast was good, but I am not sure how safe the buffet is in those COVID-19 times ? At lunch and dinner the food in the restaurant was okay and tasty, but a bit greasy and not over the top (the last time I stayed at Valbella Resort, it was of much higher quality). However, there was one service member who is really charming and makes everything possible, which made it a great experience (he is Italian speaking, but I unfortunately dont remember his name). The indoor pool is lovely and I enjoyed it once again. However - there where many families with very young children staying there at the same time as myself. Which is of course perfectly fine. What I didnt like however - there are age rules for using the pools, and they were totally ignored. Babies in the whirlpool which should be used only for children over 3 years for example. I do worry about hygiene in such matters. I was also worried about social distancing, which in the indoor pool on the first day was really difficult, as a grandpa and his grand son were basically using the whole pool, swimming back and forth all over the place, and taking absolutely not regard to other people (which was only myself, so it would have been really easy to avoid this situation). I dont want to be paranoid, but I also dont want to get COVID-19 because such of something that can really be avoided. I understand that you cant control what silly people do. But I wish you would take this more seriously, and I think there is some potential for that ?…
