We have been celebrating a family event and we did stay for one night. For the event we booked well in advance a table at the restaurant for 5 people and we mentioned, that we celebrate a very special wedding day. To our surprise the table was ready near the window but no special flower arrangement has been organized! And then the food: an extremely bad experience, not one of the courses did meet our expectations and not one of the meals was good! For our daughter we did ask well in advance (two weeks) for a vegan menu. Yes they had one - but you could barely see it on the plate and the quality was more then lousy! All over all, the hotel is good and the place is gorgeous. But when it comes to serve your appetite you better go to the restaurant near the church!
What a pity that the hotel management is not doing more with this unique location! The infrastructure is very poorly maintained. Bathroom furniture becomes grey due to fungus . 50% of the buttons in the spa to launch a water jet are not working, the food quality is far under average, at breakfast they provide 1 coffee machine for all guests (imagine the queue...) and for checkout it tooks me 20 mins. as they have 1 counter only.... Quality and price is far away of being in balance. I saw the staff trief to do theirs best and are friendly, but with this poor infrastructure and organization they can’t compensate.
My partner, our dog and I are road-tripping through Europe. We came across this hotel, which is the ONLY reason we drove to southern Switzerland. And we are so glad we did! After driving for about 8km up a winding road in the mountain (thank god for me, my partner drove) we came upon the hotel...and what a beautiful sight it was! The fitness center, although small, did its job. But the spa was the best part. My only wish was that the spa area change to adult only. The view from the spa pool can’t be beat. And the water was lovely. Breakfast was delicious and we were so grateful we could take our dog with us to the restaurant so that she didn’t have to stay in an unfamiliar room alone. The prices of the restaurant and room service are very high (welcome to Switzerland) - but the service and quality were top notch. I would have loved to buy a Kurhaus Cademario logo shirt, and maybe they will have these for sale next time. Because there WILL be a next time. We visited Como while we were down south, and my partner and I agreed that Como didn’t even compare to the Cademario location of the Kurhaus. Don’t waste your time getting a room without the view of the lake. It is breathtaking and well worth it.…
Stayed 3 nights: Pros: Beautiful Location - great for the “secluded” feel and lots of hikes nearby Awesome Spa Wonderful massage therapist 3 pools spectacular views Room size Mediocre: Staff service . Breakfast Cons: Curtains are not blackout and considering it’s summer and our room was located on the east side with a window, we were up consistently at 5 am. Issue with the aircon which woke us up in the middle of the night. Issue with the bathroom door Staff follow up on requests made - we had to repeat 3 or 4 times for any action to be taken. Restaurant food - not worth the price . Bland.
Beautifully restored hotel, with high ceilings and lots of light through the big windows. Very high quality and service...We visited the hotel in March, just at the start of the Covid restirctions, and although the services were limited, the staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Our balcony had a beautiful view over lake Lugano. The property has amazing gardens for walking. Bus services are very limited, so might be helpful to go with a car if you plan on doing day trips into the city.
