Kurhaus definately looks great from the outside. Beautiful location with ski in and out in winter. Also when entering the hotel there is a special feel and look about the hotel, charming in an old fashioned way. At second look it feels rather dated and abandoned. The facilities weren't that of an expensive hotel at all. Our room was outdated,...

After the previous poor night at Prafleuri this was a breath of fresh air. We thought this was a lovely place to stay. Dont expect luxury but just expect things nicely dont. 1) The whole building oozes history 2) There is a fantastic view from the terrace onto Mt Colon 3) The Restaurant serves beautiful tasty food, although it is...

This hotel is just fantastic. Although it has all the comfort we expect today, it just feels like if we were set back 100 years. Many parts of the hotel seem to be as they used to be then. The atmosphere is so relaxing. It is ideally locate at the bottom of a glacier and it can be reached by...

We were very happy with food and the hotel. Not luxury but good standard. Also Good choice of budget room or normal double rooms. Good value and perfect location for the hiking. Old classic and nice style, down by reception and dining area. We will stay here again.

Some of the "Swiss Historic Hotels" are quite luxurious (for the good or the bad, and it usually comes at a price). Not so this one: It is down-to-earth, and very affordable. We had the Edelweiss room with balcony for 200CHF and did not regret it. It is super silent there, so you can sleep with the balcony doors wide...

Stayed here while hiking the huge route. The location is fantastic. Rooms are a bit dated but comfortable. The rooms have balconies overlooking the valley. We were staying with a group of 11 staying there and having dinner. Once the group came down from the mountain we gathered in the large picnic table area for a beer and snacks and...

Hello David, We are happy that you found the location great. About this incident with the server, we would like that you note that we don't have an area for the picnic. The large table is here to take a drink in the bar of the hotel. We think that you could understand that we are a bar, an hotel...

This place was amazing. Would love to go back there. Meticulously maintained decor since the early 1900s to 1950s (?). Huge games room, plenty of places to sit and read a book. Food was nice in the bare area. We stayed in the cheap rooms with shared bathroom on the top floor, but we still had a great view and...

We had a most enjoyable stay in this hotel, very comfortable and very Swiss with friendly helpful staff. The evening meal and breakfast were very good. The large cosy lounge with comfortable sofas and a huge log fire are just what was needed on a rainy evening. If we are ever in this area again we would certainly stay in...

The hotel is Grand indeed, set in a beautiful old pine forest with views over the Arolla valley. Inside, the common areas take you back in time with cozy wood fires when the weather is cool. The highlight for us were the hotel staff who were incredibly friendly and helpful. The only downside were the bedrooms which were small and...

Hiking for 14 days as a family of four. This place has so much character, and charm, it feels like a national park lodge. They were so good to us, found some one to do our laundry so it would be ready for us early morning, and made us feel right at home. Our room was a luxury after dormitory...
