After a long adventurous day of hiking (which included the ladders to Pas de Che'vres) we arrived at the Hotel de Glacier. We were sent into the bar to register but were basically ignored. Some french speaking people in our group tried to get us registered but only a few were given rooms, we had to press to get registered and our rooms. After that, all went went well. The rooms were nice with flowered balconies.

This is a a really cute, comfortable, well managed hotel and restaurant. Our room had a balcony and beautiful view. The flowers are amazing! Every meal was delicious and the breakfast was above average with the inclusion of eggs and several other choices.

It's not usual in Switzerland to see hotels festooned with flowers, but the flower boxes at the Hotel du Glacier outdo most others. The hotel itself is totally charming. The views of Mt Collon are a spectacular addition to a cold beer on the patio after a long day of hiking. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. My only problem with the room was the small bathroom and the inconvenient small size and location of the sink under a shelf in the bedroom. That said, the staff was very friendly and overall it was a very comfortable place to stay.

We dropped in for a night following a long day of hiking. Gorgeous on the outside, comfy, cozy on the inside. Traditional Swiss family run hotel that merits 3 stars not more. Clean, hot shower, large King bed and beautiful views up the mountain. Would certainly recommend for 3-4 nights as a place to rest and relax while hiking or skiing.

A truly beautiful hotel with awesome views. The restaurant won't let you down. Good food, nice atmosphere, and great service. The rooms are nice with balconies and bathtubs available. Lac bleu down the road is worth seeing. The hamlet just below it is old style Swiss architecture. The water is really cold. You won't last more than a 30 seconds. Feels great after hiking a few hours.

We stayed here for one night while hiking the Haute Route and after staying at two huts back to back Hotel du Glacier was a sight for sore eyes! We had a lovely spacious room with ensuite and balcony. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. Dinner was raclette - something that most of our group had never experienced before - it was yummy. Breakfast the next morning was very good as well - lots of fresh fruit, cheese, meats, yogurts, cereals and a variety of breads and rolls. I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived quite early off the mountain and were sopping wet from a morning filled with sleet and rain and luckily the staff provided us with our rooms quite fast so we could shower and start the process of drying out our gear. The rooms were spacious and clean and had ensuite bathrooms. The food was very nice, however we were there on raclette night and, well I tried it but I doubt I would order it again. The homemade blueberry pie however was absolutely stunning!!! The lunchpack we got the next day could feed me for almost 2 days! There were boardgames in the hotel which was handy as we had some time to kill in the afternoon. The location itself is a tiny bit boring, not much to do in such a small village.

This hotel is located in the small, but charming town of Arolla. The view out the window is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were very large by European standards. Dinner was excellent and was breakfast. Make sure to have a drink on the patio looking out at the Mountain.

My son and I stayed at Hotel du Glacier while hiking the Haute Route. It is a beautiful Swiss hotel and a perfect stopping place. Our room was very clean and spacious. We opted for 1/2 board and were we glad we did. The evening meal was the best we had during our thirteen day hike. I would rate breakfast near or at the top, also.

spectacular views, family friendly and wonderful service. This is a family run hotel that does a wonderful job of making their guests feel comfortable. They were extremely helpful with our group of 13. They were also helpful in sending on left behind items to our home. highly recommended!
