We've been many times and always enjoy it. The staff are always friendly and helpful and David the owner is very obliging. The rooms are comfortable...beds are large...food is good. We walk through to Peebles along the river....have our lunch and bus back. Will be back

We purchased a groupon voucher for a 3 night stay. When we arrived on Monday afternoon checked in and we're advised there would be no evening meals available due to the chef suffering a stroke. We got the impression this had just happened and they waiting for someone to take over the kitchen. Another review seems to indicate this happened... More

Owner full of excuses, promised meal was cancelled without notice, place pretty tired. Being told to wait half an hour for check in cos they were busy wasnt the best start. Dont believe owner if he tells you it is only 400m from Glentress, it is more like 4 miles! Jamie, the owners son was the only good thing about... More

Spent 2 nights at the Traquair Arms Hotel over the towns games weekend and we had a lovely time! Our room was clean and tidy as was the other areas in the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was o.k but it could of been better.... for the price we paid for our stay, we got what we paid... More

We were going to buy a wowcher for this but when we called the hotel to check availability they were happy to offer us it at the same rate. On our drive up from Durham we stopped off at galashiels, where our car decided to break down! eventually we were on the move again however the breakdown guy told us... More

This was our first visit to Scotland and we used a Living Social voucher to stay at the Traquair Arms Hotel. The hotel was ideally situated as a base for our 3 day stay. Although the hotel is a little tired and needs a bit of TLC it was perfectly adequate for all our needs. We stayed in Room 12,... More

We stayed here recently and although it was no where near where we wanted it was a lovely break, I would stress that it is more for hikers and cyclists (especially). I did feel a little out of place not wearing lycra etc. (only joking), my husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed. We had an evening meal the first evening... More

Mum and partner visited recently and said it was first class and asked me to do this review for them. Keep up the good work. Food and rooms fantastic as well as great walks and the people were so friendly.

Called in for a late lunch. Very tasty old breed pork roast and scrumy chocolate cheesecake. Exceptionally friendly bar where dogs are very welcome. Separate restaurant (dog free) and beer garden. Not forgetting the Traquair beers

Originally planned to buy a voucher, but when I phoned to check availability for 3 nights commencing 31st May David [the owner offered to take the booking direct at the same price thus cutting out the Hassle of vouchers. The Traquair Arms is an old Pub-Hotel as you would expect in a Scottish village , but it was spotlessly clean, the...
