On arrival we weren't welcomed in Got handed the menus but was not told the specials or that they did a Sunday roast Ready to order and when we did were told they had ran out of that item yesterday Ordered something else. When it came it wasn't the exact thing we ordered - baguette instead of ciabatta. Wasn't even... More

We had a good deal at this place but end of the day you get what you pay for. The room was huge but had cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The bed sagged somewhat. However it was clean enough and the bathroom was modern and adequately equipped. Breakfast was fine, but on the first morning no kippers were available. Several... More

Booked 5 x rooms for a family get together (10 of us). Rooms were all in need of TLC & one of our party had to be relocated to another room & that room had a damp carpet !!? Booked dinner for both nights, however, after the first night, cancelled the second...it was awful !! The sirloin steak was not... More

We stayed for one night at the Traquair Arms following our friends wedding. The Hotel is in a beautiful setting and the staff were lovely - very friendly and chatty. The proprietor had the most interesting, and specific, bucket list I've ever had the good fortune to listen to. Fascinating! Our room as right up top with lovely views down... More

On the positive side staff were really friendly , breakfast was good but no fruit. No choice of teas. However nothing else good to add. Very disappointed overall. Left early but not charged £90 for last night.

Stayed here 2nd and 3rd of September after getting a wowcher deal. Although this is an old hotel and is needing a bit of an upgrade for what we paid we have no complaints, we had a big room and a comfy bed, plenty tea and coffee in the room. We had bed and breakfast and some other reviewers said... More

We booked a two night stay through Living Social, we booked a twin room and got two beds put together with only one duvet. The room was small and very compact but clean .My husband had to climb over the bed to get into it. The lamp in the bedroom did not work nor did the fan in the bathroom.The... More

If you like the idea of passing through a portal to an earlier time period then the Traquar Arms is for you. I went there with my wife whilst in Innerleithen. We walked into the bar/restaurant and were magically transported to the 1970's. The decor was various shades of brown with stark overhead lighting and that greasy food/stale beer smell... More
