Chance stopover heading home UK after a month away. One of our best memories of places we stayed! Jean made us welcome despite our last minute arrival, made sure we found food late in the day, had a perfect nights sleep, perfect breakfast view, & Jean insisted we walked the grounds before left - what a treat. Will be back with...

Delightful, 18th C house on Church Square in old village close to Le Puy en Velay and 20 minutes from A75. Beautiful old fashioned rooms with mod cons, wifi etc. Evening meal a pleasure shared with other guests with Mme presiding. Wine & conversation flow naturally; French at a reasonable level desirable or you will miss out.

Owner speaks English. There is no wifi. Breakfast was disappointing and very basic with only juice, tea/coffee, bread (no croissants!!?) and jam offered ... there is no...

Coming back from Spain this summer, we decided to split up the trip in two. We ended up somewhere in the middle, ie Vieille-Brioude. This part of France is often overseen by the masses but we are glad we had decided to stop over here as it's quiet and beautiful. The ermitage is a special place. If you're looking for...

Very welcome arrival after long drive. Interesting building and surroundings, very sympathetically decorated - charming. Dinner was a pleasure - the cheese board exceptional. We went the next day and bought all the cheeses to take with us on our journey south (with help from the owner) Breakfast was also good with the largest croissant ( a local speciality) we...
