B&B La Veduta is such a gem on the coast in Scilla. We are traveling from Puglia to Sicily and stayed one night. The minute we walked onto our balcony and gazed at the beautiful Mediterranean Sea, we immediately wished we could stay longer. Nella and Michelangelo are wonderful hosts. It was spotless and beautiful. We drank vino on the balcony and walked up the hill to Street Good for dinner of panini and fried fish. The room and bathroom are absolutely wonderful for the price we paid. The bathroom has everything you need and its own balcony looking out onto the small street. Breakfast was delicious with homemade pastry, eggs, excellent coffee. Even better, Nella and Michelangelo are true detectives. We paid €10 deposit for a small painting from an artist on the street down from the B&B. She wanted to finish it and we agreed to meet at 10 am. However she was not there when we returned this morning so we asked Nella and Michelangelo for their help. They were true detectives calling several people and they located the artist who had left the painting with her niece who delivered it to the B&B within 10 minutes. Absolutely wonderful how they helped us. We want to come back on our next trip and would highly recommend!

This little B&B in the impossibly picturesque Calabrian seaside town of Scilla is a very special place to stay. The rooms are modest but the location and views are simply breathtaking, from balconies perched right over the ocean overlooking spectacular coastline in both directions. One of those places where you spend one night but remember it forever.

We were lucky enough to have the top room. Put simply, it is a hidden gem of a B&B. The room, the view, the generous bathroom size and of course the host and staff which make this a magical experience. There are restaurants close by which further enhance the stay, most perched over the sea. As noted by almost everyone who has stayed the breakfast buffet contained local fresh seasonal fruit with cakes and pastries all cooked that morning. Have to mention Nella who is the ideal host. Helpful, not intrusive and importantly wants to share her fun and passion for the B&B.

We selected La Veduta based on a Rick Steeves recommendation, an article in a travel magazine and very favorable ratings on Trip Advisor. The only drawback with all these positive recommendations is that they still fail to correctly describe how great this place is! Our room on the second floor was immaculately clean, and gave us a wonderful view on the bay. Breakfast is a feast, and being able to sit outdoors litterally above the breaking waves is very special. But the real charm of this place is our hostess, Nella. Her enthusiasm, her charm, her obvious love of what she can offer to her guests, is contagious and makes everyone happy! Her ability to communicate in a mix of Italian, Calabrese, English and French is a very special gift, one which results much more from her friendly and generous attitude than from the words themselves. Being a guest at La Veduta is truly a privilege!

Our hostess Nella is such a wonderful person who did everything to make sure our visit was memorable. The room had a beautiful covered balcony and the water views are breathtaking. You can walk down the ancient pathways right from the front door or take the grotto steps away onto the sea side. The restaurants in the area are great and affordable. Great value for money especially when you consider the incredible breakfast each morning. I hated to go home. We miss you Nella.
