This hotel is located right on the beach, if you looking for a relaxing peaceful time then this is the place for you.. One draw back is it is in the middle of nowhere and you need to use a taxi to get about. The rooms are fairly large and clean, with a nice balcony out front. Breakfast wasn't great and the buffet breakfast was cancelled twice because of the low numbers staying. I ate three times at the restaurant and the food was good and the staff excellent. I had to have the safe changed and the old safe still had a credit card in it but they have kindly sent it on to me. Overall its a good relaxing hotel.
Sitting on the beach enjoying a drink watching the sunset with beautiful music. Without the music you would just hear kids playing....the music is a welcomed atmosphere enhancer. The provided beach chairs are a nice place to relax.
Loved the lush grounds and small, boutique feel. Our room, dripping in teak, was gorgeous and very clean and comfy. Loved the sunset views and groovy 70s music. We were lucky that it felt intimate. Staff were very accomodating and brought me a cake on the morning of my birthday, Such a lovely touch! GReat location. You can easily walk to town and its restaurants. We also snorkeled from the beach. Would recommend that they rent or offer snorkel equipment. We had to walk to town to buy. Cheap, but still easier to rent right there. also loved hearing the frogs at night. Breakfast was good too.
this place is absolutely incredible, we love everything here , the room the breakfast , beach the staff are so nice sunset while the philippine band are singing, it was perfect singing different songs everynight for our dinner , its true you cannot please everybody but for us we are so please ,we are so amaze when she sings different languages. WE LOVE COCO PALM AND ALL THE PEOPLE THERE. WE WILL BE BACK FOR SURE.
Coco palm restaurant is right by the small public beach, but they try to invaded it and make it theirs! They have the horrible, loud live music on the beach at sunset time - the moment suppose to be quiet and enjoy the beautiful nature. Don't get me wrong! I have nothing to complain about the band, but the resort's operation sucks! Imagine you've been waiting all day for the peaceful moment with sunset on the beach, grab some drinks and enjoy. But as soon as it start to sets, the freaking loud music is on (funny song!) and you cannot avoid it because their resort is invaded 80% of the beach with sunbed! Trust me! Not only me but many times I heard people around and my friends complain and feel super annoyed about it! Why do you have to do it? It doesn't attract more customers for sure because they will seat at yours and order something anyway since it's the only one on the beach! They cannot go anywhere else but here! If you wanna do live music for your restaurant, do it at dinner time! So people have a choice to go and listen to live music or not. Don't bother everybody like this! The beach is not yours! Hope any manager of this place read my review and think about it!…
We (a danish family with teenagers (13, 17, 19) can highly recommend Coco Palm Beach Resort. The resort has great rooms, good service, nice staff - and a wonderful location on Phu Quoc. The breakfast-buffet is really good! We enjoyed the lovely beach and found it great with a variety of restaurants in the streets behind - all in a walking distance. We have only one single remark to make: Livemusic on the beach almost every day from 17-20 is not nessecary! We found it anoying and too loud. We prefer to listen to the sea and the waves instead of a band from the Philipines playing copy-music. 🤔 Kirsten Wernberg-Møller & Klaus Knudsen Pedersen DENMARK
This place is pretty much what should be expected for the price. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the cleaners are efficient, always in and out quickly. The beach is lovely and the sunsets simply amazing - couldn’t be better! The food is so-so (but much better restaurants are walking distance). The service is pretty poor, but that’s something I’ve experienced throughout Vietnam. (The fact that food comes ten minutes before one’s drink baffles and frustrates me - that happens at Coco Palm.) The nightly band is actually very good; while I went in with low expectations I was impressed and enjoyed the well-known covers. All in all I think the negative reviews of this hotel tend to be unfair where guests seem to have expected a five star experience for three star prices, on an island where tourism is still a relatively new industry (and grasp of English is generally poor). A couple of suggestions: get the Grab taxi app - you’ll struggle to get a taxi back to the hotel from Duong Dong without Grab. Do laundry with one of the little places outside the hotel - as well as being a fraction of the price of the hotel, you’ll be helping the local economy a little. Mango Bay is a nice outing for dinner but it’s pricey and the sunset isn’t as good as at Coco Palm (in my opinion) - best to eat elsewhere and just go to “On the Beach” for a cocktail, to see somewhere new.…
I've used the beachfront bar & restaurant several times for sundowners but no longer - it has raw sewage waste water discharging onto the road and thence onto the beach and into sea on side, stinking to high heaven, and kitchen wastes discharged and stored in a public area on the other side, which washes onto the beach and sea by rain. This has all been brought to the attention of staff although decent management should have this under control. How it is allowed to continue to operate beggars belief.
These guys really need to reduce their environmental impact. They have dirty water constantly running out of their facility creating a large puddle of filthy water on the access track to the public beach. For their New Year’s Eve party , they emptied entire bags of plastic glitter on the beach. Going swimming on new year day the sea and sand is now full of plastic floating around. Guys, please improve in 2020
Nice & relaxing room with lots of warmth and wooden details. Friendly staffs with big smiles as they greet you. Very attentive to the guests’ needs... at breakfast, a waitress asked me what my room number was; next day, she knew I was checking out that day, and asked me when they should have the shuttle bus ready for me. Further, they have gone out of their way and taken me to the next resort I was staying, as this next 5 star resort wanted me to go 22km back to the airport in order to catch their complimentary shuttle bus, only to come back this same 22km as I was already more than half way through the ride to their location. I wonder... who is really providing a 5 star guest service?
