We've stayed here 3 out of the past 4 Christmases. Only around 20mins drive from down town Karuizawa and well worth it for the experience of staying the snowy mountains . The Japanese/Western Suite rooms are great value and the best size and layout I've found for a family of four in Japan. Two beds in one bedroom, a Japanese...

Indeed, the room is wide and the hot spring quality is good. However, They were all. Though there were 3 pair of slipper in the room, bath towel, towel, toothbrush, glass, tea cup , mug cup ,tea set are all for two persons. I called to bring them but the staff could not succeed in the first try. In other country,it...

We needed a value for money layover place prior to arriving at our next ryokan and chanced upon this in Iiyado website for Yen25k for 2 inclusive of dinner and breakfast. It was convenient to get to as the hotel offered free shuttle transfer (40mins) from Karuizawa Station. The hotel was a condo converted into serviced apartments after the last...

Firstly, I need to clarify that I do not know how to get to this hotel as this hotel stay was included in a package I had booked and it included transport to the hotel. Anyway, before we arrived at the hotel, we were brought to Onioshidashi Park where you can enjoy spectacular views of Mount Asama which is not...

We stayed here for 3 days 2 nights on August. We stayed here because this hotel looks nice, it is affordable and not far from Karuizawa (about 40 mins by car). Hotels around Karuizawa are too expensive and not worth the price. Overall we are very satisfied with this hotel and would come again if we visit Karuizawa again next...

We loved this hotel. The series of buildings surround a water feature and fountain and are connected by a number of enclosed walkways. For our stay everything was covered with a dusting of fresh snow. The hotel includes a buffet restaurant, a fancy traditional Japanese restaurant, and a third described as "French" that we did not try. The staff helpfully...

We came in Dec. before we fly to Hawaii. A cold and the hot trip! We booked this hotel but did not know how far it was located. We took the train from Tokyo...switch trains and arrived here(train station). The Japanese were very helpful throughout and led us here. We were shocked when we arrived cos no hotel in sight....

We stayed here for a 3-day winter vacation with our 3 children---what a delight!! The Japanese-Western style suite was huge -- plenty of room and privacy for all of us, so clean, and a perfect view of Mt. Asana out our window! Also had a wonderful onsen and a huge breakfast buffet with lots of options. Best part though was...

In the middle of woods and deep forest, a huge facility of Hotel Karuizawa 1130 appears all of a sudden. It feels somewhat outdated and very Japanese. The rooms are large, but somewhat not fully utilized. Kitchen space is a bit too cozy. It was a difficult to get beverages in and out. I spent two nights here, and luckily...

Planning a trip to Karuizawa with my mother and her friend, we decided we wanted to stay somewhere slightly Japanese. We were recommended ti stay at Hotel 1130 - driving to the hotel we were so surprised to see this huge hotel. This is a typical Japanese experience, not the ryokan, quaint experience, but more the big mega-hotel, mega-facility, mega-everything...

“Winter time is nice but very quiet. As first timer here, we do not have a plan what to do. Maybe the hotel staff can give us a suggestion. Summer time may be better cos hiking. golf, etc. Back building to have a good view of mountain”
