Apoka is situated in what must be one of the last great wilderness areas in Africa. The flight in over the Narus valley is awe inspiring! As we touched down at the airstrip we were greeted by Corey and his team and then transferred on the short drive to the lodge itself. The service from the time we touched down... More

Our first trip to Uganda, even to Africa and we get to stay at the Apoka Safari Lodge! I don't know where to start, but staying at Apoka is worth every penny and we will be back some day. The staff, our driver/ranger, the sundowners, the bush-breakfast, the the walking safari, the community visit, our room (no 2), the food,... More

A fantastic place with a unique nature diversity. It is really one of my favorite places in East Africa. Uganda Wildlife Authority offers a basic accommodation that is excellent in my view. Bring your own food though. Or pre arrange with UWA in Kampala. Long drive to Kidepo from KLA but you might consider Mt. Elgon before heading there? Or... More

Thanks so much for your review of Kidepo Valley National Park. It is truly spectacular and we are glad that you agree! We see you stayed at UWA Bandas and not at Apoka Safari Lodge (this page is officially for Apoka Safari Lodge). Hopefully we can host you soon! More

This place is great and enjoyable after the long drive and fatigue as its far and not easy to reach but worth the wait. We loved every bit of our stay at this lodge, very good rooms, amazing views and friendly people. Had a good time

Where to start? Superb reception, superb food, a park ranger that knows the park like his backyard and who was even more excited than us when finding a lion with his kill, superb location, roaring lions that wake you up during the night, a little pond where animals come to drink, superb rooms. Amazing sundowners in the wild. The staff... More

My wife and I stayed at Apoka in January for four nights...cottage no7 which Oscar, the Manager, said was his favourite, being furthest from the centre of the lodge and, therefore, nearer to nature. It was very comfortable, including the sunken outdoor bath and the sofa on the very private balcony. The people looking after us were lovely and always... More

I wavered between Kidepo and Murchison Falls, but ultimately decided to give Kidepo a try simply because November is the low season and we would not be able to afford this lodge during high season. Loved our cabin and the attentiveness of the staff. Sometimes it was too attentive, and I felt bad for them. The game drives were great... More

haveing been there end of 2013, we decided to visit the place again this year over Christmas and it has been even better!! Saw many lions, herds of elephants, the buffalos are still there but the best thing to do there (in my opinion) is a game walk!! Try it and you will love it! The lodge is still perfect,... More

We loved Apoka Safari Lodge. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom very nice. Loved sitting by the pool and lodge watching the animals at the waterhole. The game drives were great. We must be one of the few not to see Lions but the grass was very high when we were there. Oscar, the manager, greets you before... More

Awesome, amazing and exceptional place to be beautiful. The animals are so beautiful good weather, very quite place to be on a honeymoon. The park side has a variety of animals to look at and the scenery is so beautiful.
