Very friendly, very comfortable, and the breakfast and dinner portions are huge. Although I don't speak Japanese, Adan speak enough english for me to understand the island. Adan drove me around the island and showed me around. The island is very sleepy, very few people, mostly the young and the old. There is no one on the road most of the time.

People go to Yonaguni to dive only. If you are a diver, call Adan and ask him to make arrangements, because the dive shops have no body in them during day time, everyone is out diving. Adan is in the hostel all day answering phones so he is the best person to contact.

Adan is in the middle of town, center of town is 2 intersections and a shop, (island has less than 200 people) Building use to be the custom and immigrations office and the other side the legal or tax office, (Ask Adan) when there there was a ferry going to Taiwan. Then the ferry sank and Adan bought the building from the government.

The facilities are clean. We stayed in a western style room with beds. There was a small flat panel TV, a working modern AC, and an electronic mosquito repellent, which are a must in Japan. Beds were comfortable. The showers are located in an attached building so you have to go outside for a moment to get to them, but they were very clean and hot water wasn't a problem. Definitely get the add-on meals here for 2 reasons. First, there are almost no food establishments on the island to speak of and the few that exist are not very good. I tried them. Secondly, the...
