The cabins are found on the mountain between Tokashiku and Aharen villages on Tokashiki island, in the Kerama region of Okinawas outer islands. A very reasonable, clean place to stay with great staff who are more than capable of speaking English.

Me and my wife want to do a trip around the islands, and there are many boats that are really hard to get if you do not speak japanese. We couldn't get a room because it was full, but Yamamoto san did help us with a boat reservation.

We visited in June as a family of 4 with young-ish children (aged 3 & 6). The process for booking the guesthouse was very simple and the owners were SO helpful in arranging our reservations on the ferry for our car.

When we arrived the owner met us at the ferry point and we followed behind him in our car as he led us to the Guesthouse. He showed us around and explained how everything worked.

The log cabin was relatively small but perfect for size for our family and included a fridge. cooker, rice cooker etc and bbq's are available to rent if needed.

The cabin isn't all that close to the beach so I am pleased we brought our car with us having said that I have heard the owner is willing to drive you around if needed.

Personally I feel the price is a tad high but that is my only 'complaint'

We booked both cabins and stayed in the guesthouse for 1 week end of August 2016. Yamamoto San is a great host and helps where he can. The cabins are in the middle of the woods, quite and beautiful.

The terrace in front of each cabin is fantastic for breakfast and also for dinner. We cooked every evening and it was amazing to sit under the stars and chat. The cabin itself is like a mountain hut, simple and nice.

We think it is time to replace cups, plates, pans etc. it is all too old and not of 1 type. All the kitchen area of the cabins need a deep general cleaning and modernization, this is the only negative point I want to highlight.

The island is so beautiful, beaches and underwater life are amazing. I would definitely return there and also to the Tokashiki guesthouse.

Tokashiki is a true paradise and TJ's welcome ompleted the picture of a dream holiday. Peace, silence, quiet, little tourism and gorgeous views, all this is Tokashiki island.
The apartment where we stayed (we were only a couple) is comfortable and in a great location. If you decide to go there you can be sure that for all journeys and transfers TJ and his wife are always available and ready for you.
The only negative note are poisonous snakes as neighbors and a too many mosquitoes while enjoying the sunset from the panoramic view though ... maybe in reality all of them are part of the adventure and of the total immersion in the peace of heaven in Tokashiki.

We visited twice. Once without wheels and once with our Pajero. "TJ" was so kind to transport us when we didn't have wheels. It is expensive to put the Pajero on the ferry, but if you are staying for four or five days, I'd definitely recommend that. We were able to tour the island and make quick trips to a restaurant or the little grocery. The cabins are extremely nice. My only recommendation to other Americans is to bring something to sit on inside the cabin. There are no chairs. We also brought air mattresses on the second trip for the "princesses" who find tatami mats a bit too firm. The mosquitos can be bad at night around the cabin during the summer. Don't forget your bug spray. Make sure you bring enough Yen for the entire trip. If you bring a vehicle, ensure it's in good mechanical condition, I don't think there is a garage to fix it there. The beaches are gorgeous. Both of our trips were the most relaxing times we've had in 3 years on Okinawa.
