It was recommended by my friend and she complimented highly of the place. The food was delicious as hell. I had breakfast and dinner during my stay and the dinner made me feel like king. The location is great and convenient. Its only 15mins walk from takachiho bus station and 5-10mins walk to takachiho gorge and shrine. There is a...

Very reasonable priced hotel for our high school Japan trip. They are so accommodating for our high school students by providing western/Japanese style dinner. Rooms are so clean and new. The hotel offers a comfortable and peaceful environment. The front desk staff were very helpful and gift shop is well stocked with various souvenirs and drug store items.

We stayed here for 3 nights - much longer than the usual one night stand preferred by Japanese visitor it seems. This gave us plenty of time to visit the gorge, the nearby sites, and to take a breather in the midst of a long busy trip. The hotel was lovely: our very large Japanese-style tatami room was quite nice...

Hotel Takachiho is a good place to stay, close to the village but not to close and as such quiet. This hotel offers a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. The location of the Hotel is convenient for those wishing to do sightseeing; it is close both to Takachiho Gorge (5 min by taxi) and Takachiho Shrine (10 min. walk). I stayed...

This was an unexpected gem. The staff were super helpful and the cleaning lady chased us down (as we were just getting into the free shuttle to the bus station) we had left our one and only adaptor behind. Thank you!!! We truly met some of the most friendliest people in this town. We were given a ride back into...

This hotel was unexpectedly lovely! My friend and I are used to the small rooms common in Japan, but we were surprised by how big the room here was. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The buffet breakfast was nice. The location is excellent for exploring Takachiho Gorge, which was a winding 10-15...

Stayed here with my 2 sisters on our road trip of Kyushu. Probably the best reasonably priced choice for a stay in this city. Authentic Japanese Inn, lots of character. Wonderful, very helpful staff, even let us check in early. Room is simple, but very clean and plenty big for 3. Price includes buffet breakfast (which had lots of Japanese...
