We stayed in 数奇屋丸 house. Beautiful nature surroundings and excellent service. Room size spacious and newly renovated, extra large TV, large bathroom and nice view of river. We can also use other onsen free of charge. Must go to 吉祥之湯. Recommend to everyone looking for an escape from real world. No public transportation, best to drive here.

We finally arrived here after driving 2 hours from Fukuoka. There are 2 main buildings. We went to the wrong building Hizenya instead of Daishiz which is 5min drive further down. The staff is excellent and greets you on arrival. There are only one onsen in Daishiz building while there are 3 onsens inside Hizenya building. There is no shuttle between the 2 buildings, you need to walk 15 min. There is a free shuttle from Daishiz building to another onsen which costs extra for using the onsen there. We had traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner in the hotel, unfortunately it is not to our likings. The room we had was small for 3 people sleeping tatami. We didn't know the air-con control was actually the heater which we turned off and the room was freezing at night. Anyway, we did enjoy our stay at a tradition onzen hotel.

Although there's quite a distance to get to the hotel, worth it at the end. There are very nice hot springs, many different types of Onsen. Good dinner and breakfast, it's a such a memorable stay of traveling Kyushu.

First thing I experienced is great hospitality from doorman and front desk. Though the hotel is a bit old but it's great for all ages and best for family and friends gathering. The hotel has bowling, arcade which is a great time for family with kids. It also have free public or paid private KTV (karaoke) The hot water bath (hot spring) is clean and view is great. My friends went to the "lucky/charm" hot spring, which you have to take bus. They said it's outdoor and view is great. Breakfast is not bad too! Sound insulation is great - no noise from next door! The only thing I think it's a bit too trouble for me is it's a BIG hotel, and the passway between the building (there are 2 building) is not connect in every floor so it might be confusing at first. Another is no welcome dessert (which other traditional Japanese hotel will usually provide as a welcome sweet)

The hotel is old but clean. It is a good place to experience the traditional Japanese life style. Room is quite big. Foods are amazing! Delicious and delicate traditional Japanese cuisine. Hotel staff are all very nice and polite. Out door onsen is beautiful and comfortable.
