We came to this Onsen Ryokan towards the end of our month in Japan and it was one of the best stops of the entire trip. We hired a car in Kumamoto and had a lovely drive up into the mountains near Mt Aso. The GPS guided to the address with no problems. Unfortunately we couldn't see much of Mt.... More

If you looking for restaurants, bars, shoppes- there is nothing to do here;) We done short hiking and it was nice, around 30 minutes and you will see all the place;) The ryokan very clean. Stay at "山しのぶ" the other day, and thank you very much truly. Thank you very much for eating well about a dish in particular. I inform a kitchen staff. Besides they also seem to have stayed in a different inn, but I'll also receive and appreciate high evaluation in this palace. An overseas customer can be satisfied, too, and we... More

Heard from the other residents there, this resort was very local. They were actually why there were a couple of foreigners who knew this wonderful place. We regretted that we arrived at this resort rather late, nearly 6p.m., so that we didn't have enough time to enjoy the facilities. We had a private hot spring bath in our room. Yet... More

Ryokan Yamashinobu is perfect ryokan combining rural style and luxury. Ryokan is located among the forest and rice fields.
