Situated in a quiet, idyllic environment, Ryokan Sanga has multiple private & shared hotsprings with great views. The staff is very welcoming and professional and went through great pains to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. The kaiseki-style dinner was very well presented and delicious. I could feel all stress melting away while enjoying a cup of coffee by... More

We have over the years stayed at many ryokans. Ryokan Sanga is one of our favourites. Testament to this is the fact that we have stayed there twice this year, once in April and then again in November. What makes Sanga so special is that it ticks all the boxes. It is set in an idyllic valley with a stream... More

The onsen is situated in a very secluded location, with beautiful and peaceful setting. As soon as we arrived, the staff was waiting to greet us and carried our luggage to our room. We stayed in ‘Ego-no-ki’ room with the private stone onsen. The room is traditional Japanese style, very spacious and clean with lovely views to the woods. Breakfast... More

A very nice ryokan. The waitress (女將) are very friendly, helpful and polite. The whole environment is like a Xanadu, so comfortable and beautiful...We stayed here last week, while all the leaves turned red and yellow, so beautiful. We had dinner and breakfast here, and the food was very yummy and very Japanese style. Room was comfortable to stay, next... More

My first time to Kyushu and this trip was an onsen focused trip with my parents. Prior to this ryokan night, I had spent a few nights in ryokans so I have some others to compare with. I was expecting a lot from this hotel based on the reviews and price. I booked a room with an outdoor private onsen... More

Everyone should visit a ryokan at least once in their lifetime, and this one would be one of the best choices. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip. It was definitely the best stay in the whole trip in Asia. The service was outstanding: the best service we've ever experienced. This was our first ryokan experience, and second... More

My partner and I had three nights here in September 2016 during our two week Japan jaunt, first time to Japan for both of us (somehow!). Therefore, obviously also our first ryokan experience. It's really hard to review this place!! Because we had such a variety of feelings about it! We are so glad we came, for sure, and it... More

This is a great onsen. Gorgeous and highly recommended by friends of ours who found on their travels. We booked the standard room (no private insuite onsen) and had a wonderful time. Resort was fully booked and still could use any of the private onsens whenever we wanted and were always alone in the communal ones... (Maybe people preferred their... More

i've stayed at Sanga Ryokan with my family in March 2015. The hotel is very clean and surrounded by a pristine nature of Kumamoto. We puchased the room with full boarding plan. The food is very tasty and of a very good quality. Private hotspring bath is also available in room. The onsen in common area is very beautiful with... More
