If you don't stay here and only come for the onsen give this a miss. They clearly don't want your business as you are only spending a few hundred yen and you are more than a hindrance and hassle than it is worth to them. Well that is how we felt treated anyway. This was the second onsen we visited using the "onsen pass" . The first one we visited was Yamamizuki. We had a warm reception there. The old man who helped us with the parking there was very nice, although he didn't speak any English. We drove from Yamaizuki, it was down a very narrow lane, we didn't see any place...

We loved the place from A to Z. Upon arrival, the owner showed us around, made us our arrival tea and explained the ´dos´ and 'don´ts' that should be observed while in a ryokan and in an onsen. Chose this hotel because it was voted as one of the top 100 onsen hotels in Japan and it was also featured in local TV. We really enjoyed ourselves there. We visited Ikoi Inn in March this year and stayed for 3 days. On arrival we were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff who showed us around and informed us how a traditional Japanese spa works.
