#1 of 7 B&Bs / Inns in Odika-cho
Shimayado Island INN Goen is a Japanese style Ryokan and guesthouse. We opened in 2015 when my family came back to Ojika. Shimayado Goen is the only inn on the island that is "Available in English." The meaning of “Goen” is that meeting you is not accidental but a necessity! Our place provides amazing opportunities for meeting and experiencing cultural exchange. Here you will appreciate the real OMOTENASHI (Japanese hospitality) as soon as you walk in and I always make sure that your stay with us will remain memorable! Our facilities at Shimayado Goen include private rooms with bath & toilet. In the guesthouse, shared rooms and capsule cabins are also available for a smaller budget. To experience the exotic feeling of staying in a Japanese Ryokan our rooms are all equipped with TATAMI floor and FUTON mattresses (we also we have a folding bed, so if you need it please let us know). Taiyosan, the owner, will do his best for you to spend the greatest time. He recommended the best beaches, explained how to go on a boat-tour to the nearby islands, went with kids for beetles hunting, let us use the bikes... The hotel is not only very pretty, it is also

I worked at Goen for two weeks and loved every moment of it. Taiyo-san and his family, as well as everyone in Ojika, were so inviting and made me feel right at home from the very start. The food at Goen was beyond delicious every single day. The sashimi in particular stood out.
