My wife and I stayed in the hotel for a night in the fourth week of August. The hotel was a seaside one and quite remote from town. A hotel staff greeted us and guided our parking and carried our luggage to my villa. Welcome drink and snack were served at the reception. There was a huge sea-facing terrace outside the reception area. There were four independent villas situated at the left side of the main building. The short path to villa 301 was rather rugged. The villa itself was spacious and stylish and equipped with an open private onsen pool. Guests can have total privacy in this setting. Unfortunately it was raining heavily all night long during my stay and we only used it once before check-out. Indeed guests could use one private pool for an hour in the attached onsen house; it was booked when checking-in. We did not try the public onsen. My plan was a half-board one. Each group of guests could have own partitioned room for breakfast or dinner. The dinner composed of numerous fine local dishes and crab was the highlight. The breakfast was a Japanese-set one. I recommend to guests who seek for a quiet getaway in a roomy and comfortable sea-side setting with fine traditional dishes and services.

Perfect vacation in Kanigoten!!! Although inaccessible by any public transportation, the hotel offers pre-booked shuttle service between Kanigoten and Hizen Oura station. Despite it's remote location, there is a convenience store within walking distance. We noted that most guests arrived there in their own vehicles. Four villas with in-room onsen situated next to the main building, which housed the reception, traditional Japanese rooms, ocean panorama rooms, premium rooms, banquet hall and public onsen. We stayed in the Ocean Suite (Villa number 1), with a sitting room equipped with big sofa, LED flat screen TV, Hi-Fi, air-purifier, fridge, a bedroom with futons and a big outdoor onsen overlooking the beautiful Ariake Sea. The accommodation clean and cosy. Despite full-house on both days, we enjoyed absolute tranquility and full privacy in our villa. There is also private outdoor onsen with different settings, which cost 1500-2000 yen per hour. Guests were given one hour of free private outdoor onsen. We selected 'Iwa', and found it much smaller and less attractive than that in our villa. The mouthwatering meals highlighted our vacation. We had Takezaki crab, Saga wagyu beef, abalone, conch, tiger prawn, grilled fish, sashimi......etc, all very delicious and fresh. I wish to mention two ladies, 小野 and 劉罄竹, who provided very dedicated service to guests and ready to go an extra mile for additional requests. Perfect vacation in Kanigoten, nothing but 100% perfection!

Nice relaxing hotel. Dose not feel 3 star hotel at all, feels like 5 star service. The Staff is very nice and friendly, they even saw us leave the car park for the next day. I stayed at the Premium room "Guest room with an open-air bath" with a private hot spring with a beautiful view looking over the Ariake Sea. The public hot spring inside the main building is also nice and relaxing with a very beautiful view. The open hot spring, which you will need to pay is nice with open views too. The crab dinner set was very nice, apart from one thing which was the crab was not 100% fresh and not sweet. I think it's been in the tank for a few weeks and the sweetness of the saltwater has gone. The Breakfast set was also very good. After the Breakfast I would take a walk around outside the hotel to the Melon and orange bus stop which is a good spot to take photos of the hotel and the Ariake Sea.

Full seaview in the room like a picture. The room we booked with sofa in front of the window. It's so relax to sit on the sofa with Chopin music in the room. The best Onsen dinner we had in Japan - Crab, Prawn and Wagyu Beef. It's a very good place for the city people like us to have a break. Highly recommend to check in sharp at 3pm to spend more time in room with view and onsen.

Very good and lovely. When I checked in, we got a drink and delicious pudding, the reception explained the environment to us in English clearly. I stayed in Room 403 with full seaview and an in room CD player playing relax music; lady has choice to select Japanese suit at lobby, they have variety patterns for selection, it's lovely! The spring at the roof have lovely sunrise view. I give 4.5 out of 5 to this hotel because the crab of my dinner might not be boiled well, or not so fresh, but my husband's was ok.
