When going to Naoshima, this is a must stay hotel! I stayed in Oval part that is the highest and have an amazing view! Try the spa that is also very good! Benesse Hotel offers a super convenient bus service from port to main museums and hotel! Definitely want to go back and bring my parents there!

Amazing panoramic views. They have a few art pieces here that are quite interesting. There are some art pieces that says you can't take pictures. They also have a cafe in case you need to replenish they have good food options and drinks. Worth the visit if you're also checking out other museums in Naoshima. Get there through the shuttle... A harmonious fusion of beachside, Japanese modern architecture and a contemporary museum. The rooms are have all the Japanese chic calmness one would expect. Excellent breakfasts and modern Japanese restaurant. The French fusion restaurant is more for locals wanting a taste of haut cuisine. The only niggle was shortage of lounge furniture on the stunning seaside deck - ideal for... More

Imagine looking out your window at the seto sea from your room, and also being able to see if from the bathroom, and having original Albers prints on both sides of the bed. Imagine being able to walk through a museum in your pajamas and slippers. It was fantastic, though pricier than anyplace that we'd normally stay at.

What a great place. By far the best hotel and modern art museum in one place. Great views from superb room. It doesn't get any better than this. Just make sure you book in advance to stay at the museum itself. The garden with outdoor art is amazing too

Nice room with great view, excellent breakfast buffet but not in the same building (we stayed in the museum hotel). Efficient shuttle service. Unfortunately, no bar for a before or/and after dinner drink. Dinner hours from 6-8pm and 8-10 are strictly inforced! Staff at the reception not very helpful nor customer oriented. No gym, no bicycle rent and no pool.... More

We stayed at the Oval room203 at the beginning of July. It is a one of a kind experience ! You feel you're in the island of Dr No - or some other James Bond movie. The whole aproach, from the ferry arrival, the shuttle, the Art populated village to the hillside hotel - makes this a unique journey. We... More

If you are an art lover and are planning a trip to Japan, treat yourself by visiting Naoshima Island and staying at the Benesse House. The hotel is wonderful: * friendly, helpful staff *rooms in "The Park" all face the sea, are very comfortable with a nice yet minimalist decor *free shuttle for guests between the hotel, ferry and all... Very expensive but the view from your room and the art is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Staying at Benesse House and then enjoying the island is wonderful. Stay at least 2 nights so you can visit all the interesting sites.

We were lucky enough to book a room in the Oval and it was really a memorable experience for us! The view there is amazing and catching the sunrise from our room was really special. I would want to go back again and hopefully stay longer next time.
