Shirahamakan has a good location. The beach is just across the road. It is convenient for going to beach anytime. Also, the hotel has hot spring and good dining service. Of course, you could go to restaurant nearby but after a hot spring bath probably you would like to have dinner at hotel instead.

Places like the Shiraramakan hold a special place in my heart. A place that is definitely a bit twisted, that appreciates the old and funky, even when the old and funky are rather grotty and worn-out. Even if you come just for the food it's worth it! We had Kaiseki for both nights and had really good lobster sashimi, abalone sashimi and shabu shabu beef. Everything was amazing and we were so full after each meal. The public bath had 4 onsens! The onsen water has a little ammonia smell due to the minerals in the...

Shirahamakan is one of the original inns on the beautiful Shirahama beach, built long before all the large hotels. As such, it is in a very central location, separated only by a road and a grove of pine trees from the beach.
