A beautiful view of the beach, comfortable beds and a large clean room greeted us after a smooth check-in. Dinner and breakfast were tasty and made more special for their 90th anniversary in 2019. Service at the restaurant and at the front desk was very professional, always doing their best to cater to your needs. We stayed at another, more expensive, onsen ryokan in the area afterwards and this was leaps and bounds better! Stay on the premium floor here and you won't regret it!
We enjoyed our stay. Very kind service for guests with small kids!! I wish only if they had a baby cot... so that I didn’t need to look for a room key for a long time. Thanks! We will visit there again.
Overall our stay was pleasant - good hospitality and food but there were a few things that foreigners need to be aware of; (1) Breakfast ended really early at 9:30AM, and (2) Check out time is early too at 10:00AM and they will start charging 5,400 yen per hour if late. I respect these are local customs so not a huge issue but flagging it just in case you are not an early bird.
The hotel is established over 80 years on the same location next to the beach, the room is a little bit old fashioned, but the kaiseki dinner is terribly good which makes the stay worthwhile. The staff is well-trained and helpful, I am glad that I had stayed in the hotel one night among the two nights in Shirahama. I stayed in a small hotel named Shinnishiki which is within only five minutes walking distance from Shiraraso. Shinnishiki is also of good value and provide me another good experience.
Rooms of different types and sizes that can suite requirements. Direct access to the beach and the hotel has all beach facilities available to rent. Fresh water taps are also installed there for guests to take shower and to wash away the sands before returning into the hotel.
