For an expensive Japanese hotel, in a country where even stranger are super awesome, the attitude and service level of the staff here is surprisingly very bad.
The outdoor public mixed onsen is very beautiful though. You can only get in with clothes given at...More

Super nice view. Room is generally clean. Onsen is a bit small. You need to wear clothes (provided by the premise) in the mixed onsen, which is nice but odd. Food is of a big portion, but not much surprise.

the public baths are natural hot springs. you cannot book in advance. you just walk in the bigger one at the bottom of the hill for men and women. you have to wear a towel sarong sort of thing. for the small ones for 1-2 people, it is locked and people drop the key off when they are finished. there can be long queues unless you go early or late. free popsicles after!
