We booked a plan with in-room dining. It was amazing we could have temple breakfast in the morning, overlooking the garden. It could be cold in winter as the room had paper windows. Beware of insects coming in. Apart from that, it was very comfortable.

The service was poor, we felt like we were imposing. We were asked to bathe in the evening before 10pm as the bath was closed in the morning. The food was average and the gardens not well kept when comparing them with other gardens seen in Japan. There was only Japanese writing on the signpost out the front making it difficult to find, we had to go in and ask.
