Its semi hidden from the main street and tucked right into the bay area where its quiet and scenery is amazing. Kingfisher is just an arm's length away when we were eating at the restaurant with fishing rods provided for guests wanting to try their fishing skills. The view from the onsen tubs overlooking the lakes at night was amazing....

This is the one you can't afford to miss if you want to enjoy life in a way that everything runs smoothly and naturally up to your satisfaction. It's been a long drive and in view of the distance ahead of us, we called up the ryokan to let them know we would arrive late. As usual, the staff answering...

We spent 2 nights at Hyakurakuso in mid May. Upon arrival, we were actually taken aback coz the main entrance doors to the hotel looked like they needed upkeep. And, as we were following the staff to our room, we passed by a utility room the door of which was a bit beaten up too. Such sightings are rare for...

This is a typical onsen hotel for you to relax. No shop nearby. Every room with a fantastic view. Small numbers of room so you won't see lots of people around. One special feature is the cave onsen which is at the cliff. Restaurant situates beside the coast and you can see fishes, ducks and even jelly fish when you...

This is an old Japanese traditional hotel with accommodation of about 20 rooms. No trendy design, no fancy decorations and no modern uniforms. It is all old Japanese style furniture, classical hot spring (onsen), quiet and relaxing ambient, beautiful scenery and great hospitality. There are 2 public onsens, ocean view and cave. In addition, they also provide private onsen and...

Hidden gem in Noto Hanto! A very beautiful ryokan from the minute you stepped in. We drove and the road leading to the hotel was only 1 lane but it is a 2-way road. When we reached, one of their staff guided us to our parking lot. What we saw then turned our legs into jelly. We were right on...

What you get: seriously good Japanese food. rooms with exellent views. well trained happy staffs. fishing from the hotel property What you don't: night life. beach. western food. We arrived in the middle of three day storm in November. Expectation was low because all the local fishermen were rather drinking on land instead of fishing. But they somehow managed to...

Lemme start with the minuses. The room was small and it harbored a smoker before we arrived. That's it. Everything else was perfect. Our traditional Japanese dinner was over the top tasty and flawless in presentation. The setting is intimate and a small working fishing village. Then there is the hot spring bathes cut out of a ave. Don't get...

What's best about this hotel is many rooms have a small, private outdoor bath...they also have several larger private baths which you can reserve and come complete with fresh orange juice (although you have to make it yourself.) The larger, indoor cave bath is OK, but doesn't quite live up to the hype...although the small outdoor baths nearby (individual size...

This Ryokan is located hidden in Noto. I took by bus from Kanazawa and let pick up. There is famous hot spring in cave, it's so special. In out side there is also pot bath for one people, you can see beautiful snow view in winter! We reserved also private bath and we could really relax there. For dinner you...

“If you are renting a car to get here from Kanazawa be sure to drive back via car-accessible beaches...you can get a good clip going and if there aren't many other cars around can try some figure 8's etc....great fun!”
