Stayed there over the long weekend as not much else was available. Free bus available, which is good as it's a long way from the station. Room was a little bigger than I expected and the bath was long enough for two people, but not too deep so one stretched out is OK. Window was super small, only good for ventilation. There was a skylight which was annoying in the morning as the light makes it hard to sleep in. There was a decent size fridge but a little noisy. The hallways smelt like a dirty ashtray, but the room was smoke free. Buffet breakfast is free, but the western foods were pretty tasteless. Japanese foods were pretty good for the price. Get there early as there will be a long line and be prepared for some defensive food gathering as it's like feeding time at the zoo, and same deal for the dinner buffet, but there is all you can drink alcohol which was awesome! I have tattoos, so couldn't enjoy the onsen, but you can book a ping pong table or karaoke room for free, and also free bicycle rental. I bought some onsen powder from a souvenir shop and used it in the bath. Not a great deal to do in Yugawara, but there is a great bus trip through the mountains to Hakone from the bus stop which is about 3 minute walk from the hotel. If you get a Hakone free pass beforehand it's free, but we didn't have one yet so it cost over 1000 yen each. There are only two bus services in the morning.…
