Can't commend the staff here enough, very helpful with anything we needed - taxis, discounted lift passes & gear hire, even with language barrier of main reception lady. Rooms were small and cozy but no different to normal japanese style, but were big enough to store our suitcases and snow gear with good organisation. In room bathroom was small but clean and tidy. Small seperate bathrooms/baths available downstairs aswell. Seemed like hotel runs alongside sister hotel (hotel montblanc) so things like dinner and bus transfers etc have to be booked in day before or need early notice as they need to organise with other hotel etc. Hotel is within 10mins of goryu ski resort which is good, (but there also is a free shuttle bus just down end of road if you don't feel like walking). Drying room not the best, has no lock but better than nothing - they do allow you to hang stuff in your room to dry overnight with heater but means less space in your room. Goryu is a small quiet little snow village. If your looking for big nightlife not really for you, there is a few small bars located around close which is good. Only downfall not many restuarants options for dinner available in goryu area but there is some buses that run down to hakuba happo if you need more nightlife or food. …
Seems to me to be a family-run but group managed hotel. The lady in charge Keio, was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Despite limited English, she went out of her way and beyond to help us in whatever we needed, truely exceptional service. The hotel itself is cosy, rooms are basic but then again, you probably won't be spending much time in them. Breakfast was good and hearty. About a 10 min walk uphill to the ski lifts which is manageable. There is also a bus stop 2 mins from the hotel which brings you straight up to lift (although times are quite infrequent). Overall wonderful stay, mostly because of Keio.
Sejour Mint is a really great base for a Hakuba Snow Holiday. The location was ideal for exploring not only Goryu, but all the local resorts, with the shuttle bus at the bottom of the street, and the buses that headed further afield just down the road again from there. Koji was really helpful with everything, and even offered us advice on which mountains to go to depending on the weather and snowfall. The rooms were a comfortable size and there is a really cute common area to hang out it, although our group of nine were a little cramped all trying to fit in there at once. Overall really great accommodation that I would highly recommend.
