I've never stayed at a lodge, used a communal kitchen, in fact I don't even ski. But I was on a trip with someone who does and I still enjoyed my time. Nick, the owner, helped with arrangements for a snow monkey tour, he helped find me a gym and was just overall very friendly and accommodating. The lodge was... More

Having stayed here numerous times and always feel welcome as part of a big family. Once you settle down you really feel like its your second home. There is much to say but experience it to understand :D If you want to ski-bum it and quickly get to know others go for the big share rooms. Once you've visited once... More

Spent a bit over four week there this season. Good staf, nice guest that are into skiing. Very nice and clean rooms, and a perfect kitchen so you can cook your own food. Will definitely come back here.

I first stayed at the Hakuba Powder Lodge 7 years ago and it has been my home away from home ever since. It is the perfect option if you are looking for a low cost lodge filled with addicted skiers from all over the world. Hiro, Nick and the staff look after everyone extremely well and will often go above... More

Stayed here for a week over Xmas. The rooms are small and rather dark, the toilets and showers are dated. The owner is a know-it-all with poor social skills. There really isn't any good quality backpacker accommodation in Hakuba, but this place is at the top of the heap. On the plus side, during my stay there were some good... More

Pleasant stay with our kids. Nick and Hiro were helpful and provided transport, tips and booked ski lessons etc. Like staying with friends in their home really. My two boys especially enjoyed staying here

I stayed at Hakuba Powder Lodge for 2 months in 2013 and to finally leave felt like I was leaving home. I arrived in the midst of the busiest part of the season and left at a time when guests were few on the ground and at all times the lodge was a thoroughly enjoyable place to be. The lodge... More

Going from Colorado to Japan to ski seemed extremely daunting as I had no friends who had completed this trip. I did some research on TetonGravity.com's forums and found Hakuba Powder Lodge as a resource to stay while in the central mountains in Hakuba. We arrived in Hakuba a day late, but was still able to get picked up at... More

Opposite of one persons review I liked a lot when stayed at this Lodge. Yes it's a lodge and don't wait 5-star hotel amenities and some times drying room is full of peoples stuff, but hey that's normal when the lodge is fully booked. I still always managed to dry my clothes and boots. Location is good, just couple of... More
