My mother and I stayed in a twin room at this youth hostel. The room was very nice and had comfy beds. The outdoor hot spring was very nice, surrounded by trees and shrubs. There was a lot of food, but most of it was deep fried, probably frozen stuff. It is good to fill your stomach, but if you...

Used this youth hostel as a base for hiking in Daisetsuzan National Park. Was more like a traditional Japanese accommodation with tatami mat rooms, full Japanese breakfast and shared onsen and bathroom facilities. All facilities were clean and some of the staff spoke English to assist with foreign guests. Given how expensive the other options in Asahidake Onsen are, definitely...

We stayed here for two nights in September. We drove up from the Chitose airport and were late for dinner but they kindly kept it warm for us. The food was fantastic (definitely go for the breakfast and supper option) and we also ordered rice balls for lunch to take walking with us. Onsen was great, rooms clean and very...

Get the private room and you won't believe this is a youth hostel. Futon was very comfy. Don't forget to get the onsen passport to try the neighboring onsens for free although the hostel has a great onsen itself. Food for breakfast and dinner will ensure you won't be hungry with its sumptuous spread. The only slight problem was that...

We spent 5 nights at this hostel in March, and it was a wonderful experience. The building warm and inviting, not too mention spotlessly clean. We had a Japanese style room that was very comfortable, and we found a fresh pot of tea in our room every afternoon after returning from skiing. They have a huge downstairs room with separate...

Out of the 10 days skiing in Hokkaido, this hostel was the highlight of our trip (not to mention the 200 cm of new snow that we received during our stay...) We stayed 3 nights in a private Japanese style room, and the cost of the stay included a discounted lift pass, and 2 incredibly delicious meals a day. Spacious...

This guest house is fantastic. We stayed for four nights over New Year in a private room, the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. The rooms are very clean, spacious and quiet and there is plenty of communal space to relax after a day of skiing. The food was some of the best we had in Japan, beautifully prepared and...

This place is so nice, it should not be called hostel... Owned and operated by Japanese woman and other Japanese staff. The breakfast and dinner they make are fantastic!!! I hope you are not one of those who insist on eating burgers because you don't want to eat the best cuisine in the world. They have onsen in the facility...

I stayed two nights in a dormitory. The staff is very friendly. The hostel is clean. The food is good and the portions are huge! (for dinner and breakfast). The onsen is very small but really nice. There is small tower inside the hostel from which you have a nice view to Mt. Asahidake. Instant coffee and tea are for...

The dorm rooms here are very comfortable. They have lockers, individual reading lights, powerpoints, curtains and bunk beds. There is plenty of room and I was lucky enough to stay in the dorm on the corner - perhaps they keep the noisy backpackers away from other guests? It just gave you a better view. You also get a mini fridge,...
