This was a truly lovely place to stay. The room was comfortable with a great view out over the woods. We had hoped to see a bear walk past but we were not so lucky. My husband went in the hot-spring and enjoyed it a lot. The best thing about this place was the food. The evening meal was served... More

This hotel is outside of the town, we took a shuttle up to it and it really was an up. The building is a very nice blend of japanese and western hotel design, very understated and simple but also very comfortable. The restaurant is an interesting blend/fusion of japanese and french cuisine. Very good.

The lodge need some investement because is very old. No amenities at all. Suitable for very big groups. France food is good. Overall it as overpriced for the quality of the hotel. Look around and you will find better solutions.

Back to nature experience during early spring season. Snow melting but still be able to experience snow walk around the property. Natural onsen provides real relaxation. Food was fantastic, full French dinner was provided and healthy breakfast buffet. Close to Shirakawago Unesco site. Should have spent more nights to experience the fresh air and quite setting. Staff was friendly. Japanese... More

The property is about 10 minutes drive from the Shirakawa-cho bus station, and they have shuttle to drive you there both ways. Upon arrival you'll get this mountain resort feel, staff were all very friendly and speak English well. Property was beautiful, as we visited during the winter there were a lot of snow, they have a family play park... More

Alternative stay if you do not want to stay in the village. Transport provided, just around 10mins drive from Shirakawa Go, the staff slow down driving speed to let us have the bird's eye view of the Gassho Zukuri village. Dinner was simple but serve in nice presentation, and taste good. From check in to check out, each staff was... More

My family and I stayed at the Toyota Shirakawa Eco-Institute for a night. The hotel arranged a free shuttle to pick us up from the Shirakawa-go bus interchange after we arrived via highway bus. The resort itself was about 10 minutes by car behind the mountains above Shirakawa-go. The village is not visible from the resort. In front of the... More

I stayed there for one night with a friend in early July. We drove here after a day sightseeing through the Shirakawago village. It was a short drive up the mountain from the village and there was plenty of parking on site. We had booked a western style twin room with bathroom. This must be the only available western style...
