We stayed in the village for a week in February and went to The Grapes on a couple of occasions - for dinner and for a country pint after a day climbing Snowdon. Really enjoyed both occasions, the food was fantastic - far better than usual pub grub! Could do with a better selection of larger but the ale was...

Lovely to see so many friendly people running this hotel. Food and quiz night exceptional. Breakfast was first class. The rooms were clean and excellent. The change of management is first class. Have booked rooms for my future stays. Would recommend this family business for a stay or even if you call in for a meal.

We had not eaten at the Grapes since change of management but heard good reviews locally. We decided to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant as there is a warm fire which looked very welcoming. The Steak and Ale pie was an excellent choice served with a huge portion of chips, peas and a side salad with dressing....

Thank you for your kind review and we are pleased that you enjoyed your meal and visit to the grapes. The train around the bar has attracted a lot of attention, mainly positive but I agree, a train around a bar is not for everyone. The bar area will soon be extended and linked to a downstairs cosy second bar/cellar...

Our party of three had a superb Xmas day lunch at the Grapes (Did not stay as we live locally); pre-booked about a month ago; good choice on the menu; food was well presented; tasty & well cooked. Massive portions - (would have comfortably fed 5 !!). Staff were pleasant, friendly & attentive. Nice views across the valley from our...

Not having been to The Grapes for many years, we thought that we should put this right.. So, armed with a group of friends, we decended on mass.. A warm welcome, and a great choice on the menu.. With full bellies, we were asked if we wanted to join in with the weekly quiz, which we won!! A great night...

Historic inn, fabulous views and good food. I have known the Grapes for many years and always enjoy visiting. There are four rooms for dining or enjoying a drink with family or friends, including an enclosed balcony across the back of the building and overlooking the Maentwrog valley. I have not stayed at the hotel as I live locally.

Met up with some friends prior to them moving to Scotland. The restaurant was empty apart from us. The food was excellent. I would highly recommend the steak and ale pie. The staff are very friendly. As it was a Tuesday evening and we were asked if we wanted to take part as there was only 1 other team and...

I used to visit this establishment many years ago when visiting this stunning part of Wales and was never disappointed, always a great ambience along with good food/ales. Revisited after refurbishment and again not disappointed with new owners approach to good food served in nice surroundings, will definitely be back.
