Great location, decent sized rooms, we had a 1 bed apartment. Our room was above a ski locker room, we could hear everyone walking in and out, all morning and afternoon. We could hear every step and every bang each person made as they knocked the snow of their boots, ski boots are loud. The hotel could definitely do with more sound proofing. It was a nightmare if you wanted to lay in for the morning, or if you were an injured party having to chill in the room while the rest were on the mountain. The upstairs neighbours in room M714 were a nightmare, scraping chairs and loud music morning and night - not the hotels fault, just some really ignorant people out there. We had half board which was ok, evening meals could be taken as a carry out to your room. Breakfast was an hit or a miss, we cannot really comment as we never saw most of what should have been on offer. If you arrived after 9am (served till 10am) the shelves were bare. They didn’t seem to bother replenishing anything after it was finished. All that was left was cereal and yogurt, not even a croissant to be had. Rooms were never cleaned or towels changed, have to pay €500 deposit on arrival and clean the kitchenette yourself before departure, which is at 10am and they want to charge €150 for a late check out, check in isn’t until 5pm, it’s not as if the staff have to clean the kitchens, a 11am or 12pm check out would be much better. Pillows were the worst I’ve ever had in a hotel, whoever chose those should be sacked. I highly advise to bring your own pillow. Our room was ground level next to an exit door. When clearing snow they piled it in front of our room covering half the outdoor furniture and making our entry/exit to the patio a tight squeeze. Why no one used common sense to move the furniture and ensure the room had adequate access when clearing the snow is beyond me. It doesn’t make a great fire exit. The hotel was clean with decent amenities, just small things they could change to make it even better. I would still recommend it as the location on the slope is great and all the staff were really friendly and helpful.

Overall not a great experience . Booked through Crystal stayed first week of March. We had a email two days before trip that check in was 5pm. Tried to get an early check in but found contacting Crystal impossible. However we did get a call from the rep in resort the night before our trip. Which was great however they could not help with an early check in. We did request a cot. As our flight was 6am we arrived in resort at 10.30am (private transfer 4 F very good). We arrived very tired with two young children 3 years & 10 months. Very unwelcoming staff in reception told us where we could store our bags. Told check in was 5 - 6pm. While we waited we tried to get some lunch. The restaurant staff were very rude, not welcoming at all. Very expensive food and drinks. When we finally got in our room it was nice with a lovely view but not very clean. Lights in bedrooms looked like they were going to snap off. Kettle would boil to the point you needed to turn it off yourself. Dishwasher door wouldn't close so we didn't use it. Also balcony door wouldn't open. Other wise everything you need to cook basic food. We bought bin bags, toilet rolls and dishwasher tablets however there was a little starter kit for 6 euros. We opened before we knew you had to pay for it. Not worth complaining about to staff. The room was a good size for us. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Me and my husband, baby and 3 year old. My mum also joined us. The cot we requested was not there. I went to reception and had one bought up. Unfortunately is was knackered and wouldn't stay open. I then had to go and get another. All but one side of new one would stay up. By this point we gave up as such a long day. At night other guests were very loud, having parties. Could hear lots a banging all night. I would take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Spa shop on site great but expensive. Lovely staff. Gets very busy! Precision Ski shop on site gave 20% discount. Staff were ok however think it's ok to stop half way through serving you and chat for 5mins without one sorry or excuse me. Also a Ski set on site which is a little cheaper and also offer discount through your rep but ours didn't help with this. I would recommend booking all ski gear online before you travel for best price. Can walk to Folie Douce from Eden if you like it there. The pool area is nice but water too cold to stay in for long, we didn't get to use jacuzzi as always full. Sauna also always full with people. Steam room was not in use. It would have been useful at check in to be told where to get in pool and opening times. Also would have been nice to be given information about lockers and room. We had to find out everything for ourselves. Our rep told us the night before leaving about cleaning bathrooms and kitchen. Striping bedding and leaving in bath. Check out was 10am When we left we were not told where we could leave our bags. We left them in sight in the lobby. Unfortunately due to snow our transfer was late. At some point someone took one of our bags. Stolen or mistake? When I told the reception they laughed and said oh dear. I asked to see CCTV but was told only the police can view. I gave my details in case the bag turned up. As we were already running late (2 hours) we had no time to report to the police and also hoped it would be returned. The hotel have not answered my calls, Crystal are not interested. All in all pretty sad. We would not stay again others guests I spoke to said the same. Les Arc 1800, not the best resort. Split over different levels. Not great for young children. Pain having to get lift to main area from Eden arc. Sure it's great for adults. Runs were OK. Much nicer over in La Plange area but awful to ski there as ice then slushy and many stones. Maybe not the best time of year to go anymore.

We stayed here as a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children ages 14,12 and 8) for a week skiing in Feb 2023. We were in the apartments rather than the hotel.we had a 2bed apartment which had a sofa bed in the lounge for the 5th person. Booked through Inghams and all went smoothly with transfers etc and ski pass order. The location in 1800 is lovely - ski in ski out and a little cable car ride distance to 1800. Lovely indoor and outdoor pool. Restaurant on site was pricey but food was excellent. Also does take away pizza and burger for a night in. Handy Spar shop on site for all essentials. Ski hire shop also on site (precision ski) made for a very easy equipment collection and drop off. Plus points - very clean, ski in ski out, handy location for 1800, lovely pools, dedicated ski locker for your room/apartment and very spacious locker room Negatives - pillows were extremely uncomfortable, apartment slightly on the small side for a family of 5, no cleaning /towel change during week stay Overall would recommend although slightly on the pricey side and we didn’t really like 1800 as a resort.we prefer les arcs 1950 and 2000.

Dear Jack, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are pleased that our location was convenient for you and that you appreciated our easy access to the slopes. As we are a tourist residence and not a hotel, our policies are different from standard hotels and in line with the norms maintained at establishments of our kind. We do not provide cleaning services during your stay or change of towels. This information is stated on our website and all guests are fully informed when making a reservation. End-of-stay cleaning can be provided upon request that does, however, exclude the kitchen, for a small surcharge. Rest assured that we have, nevertheless, noted your comments. Your welfare and satisfaction are our top priorities and we will certainly be reviewing the points you raised. We would love to welcome you back in the future. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, half board in w/c 11 Feb 2023 (half term) in Edenarc Arc 1800. The apartment was spacious, two bed, two bath, living area/kitchen. Generally all good. Pool was a bonus with the children and it was warm! As it was an apartment, we had to provide additional toiletries, toilet paper and it wasn’t cleaned and we didn’t get fresh towels etc. I thought we had booked a half board hotel break with a two bed room so this was a surprise. The food was good but the restaurant is not part of the hotel (albeit it is in the hotel) and very very busy. It would take 2-3 hrs in a very hot room. The staff were great just very short staffed. Plus, it’s the same menu every night (rather than a buffet) so you quickly get bored. Our daughter is coeliac so can’t have gluten and despite flagging this several times in advance with Iglu and being assured that there will be GF options, it was poor. There was GF sliced bread available for breakfast but that was it. For dinner, there was tartiflette, grilled beef, or burger patty with veg. It wasn’t great and she had tartiflette 4 times! The GF knowledge of the staff was poor. They said the chips were GF, which is right, but it turned out they were cooked with gluten chicken nuggets hence not GF. As the restaurant was independent of the hotel, they were not interested. The Crystal rep (it was a crystal holiday sold by Iglu) did give us some compensation after we complained but the food didn’t improve for my daughter. As it was half term, the resort was very very busy with huge queues. We had a good week but the overriding memory is queues and delays. Chambery airport was a joke (waiting for baggage and then trying to get back through security), the transfer took 6 hours both ways due to volume of traffic. Crystal should warn about this (the rep said it’d take 2hrs on the bus) so people can use the toilets before and have food/drink. I would recommend Les Arcs and Edenarc if you are not Coeliac and not travelling during the school holidays.

This was our first ever skiing holiday and let me tell you it was absolutely brilliant. The apartment was great, well equipped, comfy & warm. We travelled with our daughter age 7 and two friends. We loved every single minute of it! And we can’t wait to be back next season or doing another skiing holiday. The only bugbear I had was having to make sure that the kitchen/bathroom was thoroughly cleaned before we left as we would be charged if it wasn’t. We are a clean tidy family and I have a cleaning business so this wasn’t a problem at all, I just didn’t expect to be cleaning the day before my return home. (So tidy as you go guys) lol! And also putting the clean bedsheets on for the sofa bed when you arrive, we arrived at 22.30pm very tired, so it was a shock when this wasn’t done for us. The little spa shop was brilliant to get you going until you went down to the main supermarket (Sherpa) to get your main bits. The restaurants were lovely, we love to eat out so going to the different ones was great. Overall a fantastic holiday and place to stay. I would 100% recommend to anyone. Thank you EdenArc 1800

Booked for a stay in the hotel area that claims to be 4*. Rooms were not serviced at all during the stay , no towels changed etc and you had to clean the place at the end . No idea how they got a 4* status as this is basics. We’re also awkward about getting a “late” check out at midday , even though checkin is 5pm. Not at all the experience we were expecting and I would avoid completely if you are expecting a 4* hotel , we stayed at the nearby Club Golf earlier in the year and it was way better so maybe try there.

I’ve been here a few times, it’s never cheap but they always deliver. Friendly staff, very well equipped apartments with great views from the balcony across the snowy alps. Even the double rooms with outdoor seating at the lower floor, with afternoon sun, are nice.

We stayed at Edenarc - Residence des Monarques March 2022. Our apartment in Monarques residence is managed by local estate agents and not the Edenarc hotel. The only cross-over is use of the Edenarc pool facility. For years we have opted for catered chalet accommodation in various French resorts. We don't normally consider self-catering for family skiing but Covid postponements left little choice on hotels/chalets. Our children are 15, 12 and 7yrs. The youngest was a beginner at the start of the week. Overall, we highly recommend Residence des Monarques as managed in our case by GSI Immobilier Les Arcs 1800. Pros Location is superb - true ski in/ski out. This assumes everyone can ski a blue. Views are glorious - from every room, you wake up to a winter wonderland and beautiful sunsets on clear days. Accommodation - very high quality. We had 3 bedrooms (doubles/twin), 2 full bathrooms, a comfortable living area Kitchen - fully kitted with every utensil, lots of crockery, Siemens appliances, including a full dishwasher, fridge/freezer and oven. It took all the drama out of self-catering, so easy to cook. In our apartment, condiments and items like dishwasher tabs were left which helped for the first couple of days. The supermarket called Sherpa in the village has everything. Storage - lots or storage and heated radiators in the bathrooms to dry gloves/jackets. Washing - full size washing machine, separate dryer and clothes rack. You could actually bring just enough for 2 days. Ski lockers - locker room is spacious and lockers are big with two lockers allocated to our 3 bedroom apartment. Connection to Village - a free short cable car 'Dahu' connects the Edenarc complex with the Village of 1800. On-site pool - an indoor/outdoor pool with sauna can be accessed for free from level -1. For a people who sea-swim, we found it a little chilly. Many other reviews suggest the same. Fine initially but not tempting to stay in for long or return. There is one small hot-tub but rarely empty. There is also a paid spa (€39 to access) - has all the usual elements and treatments are supposed to be excellent but oddly, both outdoor pools are cold. Of course, ideal when combined with the outdoor Finnish sauna and it's view of the piste but a shame one of the pools isn't hot. Save your money and use the free pool and sauna with similar effect. On-site shop - a small food shop is on the ground floor. It has most necessities with delicious freshly squeezed orange juice and of course, fresh baguettes, croissants, etc. each morning. On-site ski rental - also on the ground floor, Precision Ski provide excellent equipment rental. Worth checking their online offers before. Cons A lot of walking - the apartments are split level (on the side of a mountain naturally) so the lift system is a little awkward, one lift 0-5 floors, a walk then another lift 6-10 floors. Fine as long as you don't forget something! Ski locker room - if you have a beginner in your group, it means a 5 minute walk up a snowy piste. Hard work when you're carrying two sets of ski's. Ski boots are not allowed inside so walking the corridors is not an option. Les Arcs Resort - fantastic resort, lots of blues & reds for families, two fun runs for kids, great variety from pretty tree lined road runs, moderate reds and wide cruisey blues at the top (above Arcs1950). Cafes/bars - cool bars (eg. Bulle Bar, Igloo Village) play chilled dance tunes. Generally restaurants are good but not as appealing as many in Morzine, Courcheval or Les Contamines. Kids - apart from the fun runs, a little cable car runs until late evening to extend ski-time. The Luge is a fun tobbogan run from this. Or, the Dahu means kids can tobbogan close close to the apartments. Ski Schools - ESF is located directly below Edenarc. For beginners, the Dahu brings you down with a magic carpet to the snow garden. We opted for Arc Advantures, also known as, ESI as we tend to prefer smaller schools. ESI run a shuttle bus from Edenarc around to their snow garden each morning at 9.10am. This is great for beginners. But, also daunting for a kid on their own as parents are not allowed to travel on the bus. You can take the Dahu down, walk (or flat ski) for 5 mins and climb back up to the ESI snow garden - it's a lot of hard work. The staff were good but not really amazing enough to merit the difficult location from Edenarc. Restaurants (village) - walking from Dahu the first cafe in the village (facing the climbing wall) is excellent for lunch. There are good restaurants for dinner (most open from 7pm) but book ahead in most cases. Note, that restaurant Voga Goga in the Edenarc complex is perfectly located but we found it less friendly, just ok food and with loud music (irritated the kids a bit) and quite a bit more expensive than the village. GSI Immobilier Great to deal with overall. French agencies can be daunting with quite a few T&C's - similar to long-term rental in Ireland or the UK. Extra's included insurance for cancellation (useful in Covid times), cleaning (around €70) so we only had to strip the beds and put out the rubbish, bath robes and towels. They were there to meet us on arrival within 15minutes of calling them. Unfortunately, GSI did not solve a problem with the TV connecting to Apps (Netflix) during the week. Not ideal as it meant we couldn't watch a movie together. Transfer Very smooth in/out of either Lyon or Grenoble. Similar distance to Geneva but with straight highway 95% of the way. We transferred with goalpes.com and Europe Transfers - super service.

This was a wonderful find, the location stunning, great bar part of the hotel. We stayed in the apartment and it was very spacious. The only let down us the pool and jacuzzi, there are no safety bars to get in and out of them. Please consider adding them... Other than that it's a wonderful place to stay.
