1. Yes our hotel is traditional "Ryokan" 2. 300m distance from Yudanaka Station 1600m distance from Snow monkey park. 3. Road to the Snow monkey park winter season is deeply snow and slippery 4. I agree with you. We upgraded the connecting system

The couple and their daughter who run the hostel provide superior service. They lent me snow boots for free (800 yen if you rent them at the park) and then drove me up the mountain to the snow monkey park. They also allowed me to stay just one night with no penalty fee for canceling my second night the day...

Dear E Yes road to the Snow monkey park is very muddy this season. and 800yen is too expensive. Thank you very much for staying with us and for writing a review. We are happy when you enjoy staying with us. The Shimaya family hopes to continue offering comfortable hotel for visitors to Japan for long time.

Shimaya Roykan was the perfect spot for visiting the Snow Monkey park, exploring the surrounding area, and enjoying an onsen bath experience. Yumota-san, his wife, and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. We were provided a ride to the top of the trail to the Snow Monkey park and picked up after our visit. Very nice! Yumota-san...

This was my favourite place I stayed in Japan. The atmosphere, the kind host and the food were incredible. We felt so welcome and so at home. Our room was very accommodating and beautiful, and the owner went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic trip. We were so kindly driven to the monkey park but it is...

We were dropped off at the top and walked our way down to the Monkeys, it was a fantastic little hike. Then hiked down the mountain through town. Owners were wonderful hosts! Don't get fooled by the sliding door in the bedroom :-) The room is much bigger! And visit the Onsen, for your first one! In the hotel.

We thoroughly enjojed our stay here; theowners extremely friendly, the food was lovely (we had a private dining room) and our bedroom, whilst quite old fashioned, was spacious and comfortable with a view of the mountains. Yumoto-san gave us a lift to and from the monkey park and insisted on supplying us with literature on the next few places that...

Yumoto-san was a very helpful and hospitable host. He drove us to and from the monkey park, to Shibu-onsen to dinner and to the station. He made all the efforts to turn our stay into a good memory. the room was clean and he has a private onsen in the ryokan.

The hotel is quite basic. We had a room with en suite facilities which were fine if a little dated. The room was good in typical Japanese style. The owner and family made the visit fantastic. Driving us to the snow monkey park. We visited the nearby town of Obuse on the second day. A must for anyone interested in...

Yumoto-san and his family were so hospitable and generous. He welcomed us very warmly, offering to drive us to the snow monkeys and the giant bell of Yamanouchi. Everything was very nearby. Our meals were delicious and the room very comfortable. I have recommended Shimaya to all my friends and hope you enjoy a stay there too!

The staff is really very helpful and gives you all the relevant information you need to know. This was not the last time we visited the Shimaya Ryokan. We come again. We only were here one day and night and the area is worth seeing.
