We were treated like Royalty! Nishi took care of us for incredible breakfast and dinner. Probably the best food we ever had! The area was amazing. Very close to Snow Monkey area. Overall an experience not to be missed. The meals were prepared with utmost care by the owner/chef who was a wonderful lady (not much English ) The room... More

We stayed at Jinpyokaku for 2 nights in July. The hotel is absolutely amazing! The meals are wonderful, not only delicious but beautifully presented. All of the ingredients are the highest quality. Nishi was so nice and so helpful to explain all we needed to know regarding how to use our private open air bath and how to put on... More

We all agreed that we made a big mistake not to stay at least two nights. Everything was perfect a highlight of our Japanese adventure. The hand drawn menu explanation to the private and public baths within the small compound of just 6 suites means you can have a private and full Japanese cultural experience. The food was heavenly -... More

Having stayed at numerous hotels in Japan over the years, Jinpyokaku and the wonderful people who run the ryokan, exceeded all expectations and gave an amazing experience that I will always remember. At Jinpyokaku, the rooms were comfortable, large and gorgeous, the onsen hot springs incredibly soothing, and the food included (Dinner & Breakfast) was out of this world. When... More

We stayed in three Ryokans across a two week stay in Japan and this one was far above the others. It's in a good location, right next to the snow monkey park. The food here is excellent, if you can't quite manage the full Japanese style breakfast in the morning, then they will bring you some toast and jam too.... More

A fabulous ryokan 5 mins from the entrance to Jigokudani Monkey Park. This small ryokan is located in the quite village of Kambayashi with Japanese styles rooms and we were treated like vip’s throughout our stay. Amy and Nishi explained in detail the bathing process, when and how to properly wear the yukata’s and the location of our meals, which... More

The hospitality was above and beyond. We were greeted by Nishisan, a lovely and gentle lady who lead us to our rooms. We in awe of our stunning and spacious rooms with onsen bath and enjoyed a traditional Japanese sweet with ocha as we listened to house rules. We stayed two nights at this ryokan.. Arriving on a bitterly cold afternoon with occasional snow flurries. We stayed in a different room each night (at my request) as the room I had been most intrigued by was only available one night. Both traditional Japanese rooms were beautiful but what made this the most wonderful stay were the charming and... More

I hesitated a lot when I was booking the hotel, because two night at this ryokan cost more than 5 other nights in Airbnbs during the rest of our trip. But I am so glad I did, because it was such an amazing experience! First of all, the ryokan looks magical in the winter, with soft, powdery snowfall. Even though... More
