I had a very enjoyable meal at the Talbot with my two children. Good food, engaging staff and a nice atmosphere. Being an absent-minded idiot, I left a bag of shopping there. Going beyond the call of duty, they offered to post it back to me at no charge (I live a couple of hours away, and will recompense them... More

We stayed at The Talbot Arms on Tuesday 13th September for one night. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived. The rooms are small but modern, clean, well equipped and comfortable. The pub itself has a 'local' feel to it and the 'pub grub' was very well cooked and tasty. Breakfast was also very good. We would... More

I don't usually bother writing reviews but Ill make an exception for Sheila.... We booked ahead for 2 days in their B&B and travelled 200 miles down south to be greeted by a very welcoming hostess! Sheila welcomed us in to the bar, gave us a drink on the house & then showed us to our room. The room is... More

All the locals hang out here (they have a community room downstairs) which makes it feel like a country pub. Outside garden pretty decent as was the service. Pretty cosy - vodka & coke + pint = £7. Food available but only stopped for drinks. Ample car parking.

Stayed for one night, at short notice. Room in separate building behind the pub. Very clean, well kitted out and very comfortable. No noise from the pub terrace, despite it being a sunny Friday night. Excellent breakfast, with a very good range of cereals etc.

Went for lunch here with a friend who had recommended the place for good food. I ordered the Devon Fish Pie which arrived looking fabulous with a plate of veg. The veg had been cooked to death, soggy asparagus, squishy carrots and sad cabbage. The mash on the fish pie was lumpy, the fish within was delicious but the sauce... More

Went for a weekend away in Uplyme. Chose The Talbot arms as it was in walking distance. We started off quite happy, reasonable choice on the menu. Then the waitress came over she was very miserable and unhelpful. My son had the fish and chips. He really struggled as so many bones in it , he didn't want to complain... More

Stayed round the corner in a b&b and decided to give it a go as saw good trip advisor reviews, booking recommended as not many tables, absolutely gorgeous food. Steak and ale pie recommended, lovely little pub/restaurant. Around £10 for a main which myself and family thought was reasonable!

We dropped across the pub late one afternoon. It was pouring with rain and on going in found the pub wasn't open until slightly later. Was that a problem? not at all. We were invited in and had a drink but couldn't get a meal then as building work was going on. We had been told the Carvery was good... More

Just love the carvery served in this very handy pub in Lyme. So close to Lyme Regis. Excellent roast. Excellent staff. Always accommodating. Clean conveniences (a bonus these days). Best to book your table as they have 2 servings. 12 noon and 13.00
