Lovely big room with furniture matching older country hotels. Spotlessly clean, big bathroom with soft white fluffy towels. Tea making facilities in room. Excellent food with very pleasant friendly waiting staff. Was delighted the second morning we stayed when I declined the cooked breakfast and was offered a fresh fruit salad instead. We stayed here a few years ago and... More

Having been let down by a dinner booking else ware, we called unexpectedly at the Lands Of Loyal, we were welcomed in to sit in the beautiful lounge area while we decided on the menu. The meal was superb, the staff were courteous and efficient, we were pleased that we came and shall return in September,

Went here for a wedding. Spent the night before and the night of the wedding. Grounds nicely kept. Fire going in the fireplace (this was July 8-9, 2016). Rooms are comfortable, bathrooms good size, very complete breakfast! (too much)...never ending coffee pot, great staff (extremely friendly). Dinner was first rate for the wedding. Easy walk into town with enough cafes... More

Gracious ambiance, interesting menu expertly prepared and served. Not for those in a hurry; plan on taking the time to enjoy a leisurely meal. Plan on a before lunch drink in front of the grand fireplace. I can only imagine that dinner would even be better.

Just home from staying here this weekend and could not fault anything. The hotel is beautiful inside and out, the staff are lovely and make you feel very much at home. The food is so yummy and well presented. We have stayed here a few times before and always feel so relaxed when we are there. The hotel is beautiful... More

Lovely country hotel with good views and gardens. A quiet, peaceful setting. You relax, with a drink, in a comfortable hall full of character while you wait to be called to the dining room. A small cosy dining room where you don't feel rushed. Staff very pleasant and helpful and a beautifully cooked lunch. The Lamb and Pork were very... More

A roaring fireplace, trophies of the hunt, a grand staircase, and overstuffed seating are the first things you see in the great room, but sit there a little longer and you'll notice so much more. This was a surprise for us as part of a tour. We stayed two nights in the coach house with a well-appointed bathroom, sitting room,... More

Beautiful hotel full of character with wonderful relaxed atmosphere - we could almost have been in an Agatha Christie novel but without having to dress up for dinner! Staff were all friendly and helpful and although some were clearly quite new and inexperienced we still had a great time and weren't put out by a few small mishaps. Our small... More

My wife and I booked afternoon tea at this hotel having been recommended it by others. It was our first visit. We booked in advance by telephone and received a friendly confirmation E mail. We found the hotel to be peaceful, historic and very comfortable, the young staff were friendly and not intrusive at all. After a short time viewing... More
