I stayed here for one night with my family in August 2019 and our stay was amazing. Angelo greeted us when we arrived and even though we arrived much earlier then check in, he was able to get our room ready asap. With no hesitation, the staff all worked together to get our room ready even though they had other things to prepare for. The cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed and even a guitar! The views were amazing and the environment was very comfortable and relaxing. Will definitely return!

Very easy to find off the Cabot trail. 3 km dirt road leads to the kayaking and cabin parking lot. Angelo greeted us within minutes after just finishing a kayak group outing! Our cabin was AMAZING for 2 adults, a teen and 5 year old who enjoyed sleeping in the loft... up the steady well-built ladder! Angelo built these!!! Lots of windows with beautifully made curtains, very comfy beds, bedding and pillows. The loft had 2, 3 inch sleep pads, that were perfect for myself (132 lbs). A sheet and comforter were provided for the loft. Many other beautiful accents made by Angelo and local artists. A desk top fan provided plenty of air circulation and white noise as well, without being too loud. The washrooms (2) are spacious and very clean with a shower and soap from the local Groovey Goat farm (a must see!). A fire pit for evening socialization is an added touch. The sloped gravel walk down to the parking lot bring you to the river and River Nest Wilderness kayak tours (a must do!!). Angelo took us out with our 5 year old! A great experience! Angelo met my expectations ... he knew them all ... :)) !!! No surprises to us. Thanks Angelo! You're a great guy!

Our cabin was like a warm, colourful bowl of home cooked minestrone on a drizzly, chilled October day. The owner has deep roots in the arts and and the local environment which is evident in the thoughtful and quirky details throughout the property. Our cabin had a handmade stained glass octopus that shone into our room like a glowing blue ship's portal at night. A great mix of romantic privacy with opportunity to socialize with fellow travelers around a campfire if you are in the mood. I was pleasantly surprised to have a separate but clean, heated bathroom as I was expecting a normal outhouse! You can do your dishes in a big sink outdoors with water pumped up from a brook. Be prepared with a camp stove or dry kindling for a campfire. There is a large wood fired oven with a lovely covered patio which would be an amazing focal point for a larger group feast, but maybe not suitable for a small meal. Fantastic waterfalls and trails throughout the local region, some hefty hikes but some short and sweet. I am glad I wore rubber boots! I can't wait to come back to kayak next year! North River kayak tours are also under the umbrella of Angelo's entrepreneurship. It was such a treat, thanks Angelo.

Susan and I stayed here for 2 nights, she had booked through AirB&B. We had cabin 3 which was very comfortable and decorated impeccably. Bathrooms were right behind , very clean and well lit at night. What separates this place is the staff and welcoming atmosphere. You feel immediately like part of the family here invited to participate in nightly activities etc. although not pressured. This is a place that may not be for everyone but certainly was for us, we felt right at home and honestly was an experience for us more than a place to stay. The location is awesome, on St Anne's Bay where we also took advantage of a full day Kayak tour with sister company, equally fascinating. Thanks Angelo and family for a most hospitable stay.

We stayed in Angelo's cabins for 3 nights in September 2017. It was just what we needed - beautiful scenery, peaceful setting, water and kayaking right there, easy access to nearby wonderful hiking, very comfy and cozy cabin. The cabins were lovely. We loved how Angelo had incorporated many local artisans' work - ironwork, leather, stained glass, etc. - into the cabins. Angelo was a wonderful host - and after our short stay, he feels more like a friend. Kathleen and Steve , who worked for him, were lovely, friendly Cape Bretoners. We got great recommendations for hiking - every spot was wonderful. Eating our breakfasts beside the water was the best way to start our day! We did a 3 hour tour with Angelo's North River Kayak Tours - most enjoyable. I wish we'd had more time to be out on the water. We absolutely would come here again. Good for the soul.
