I have just returned from what I thought would be a lovely family birthday meal, my dad's 60th. I'm appalled by the service and the quality of some of the food we had tonight not to mention the lack of service from some staff and massive lack of professionalism. We had to ask for our own food menus after being...

Visited with friends and having not been to the restaurant for 30 years I didn't realise that there were different levels with several steps and both myself and my friend are disabled. Disappointed with the staff attitude-refusing to help by relocating the table. Food was average. Decor was very confusing, modern in part and over the top decor in main....

My husband and I wanted to do something a little different this New Year's eve. Having visited the White Lion for lunch earlier in the year we had promised ourselves that we would return and stay for the night. Firstly the room was lovely, nice furniture, really comfy bed and a recently refurbished bathroom with power shower. It was lovely...

We had a family meal here and while it was OK, at these prices I expected a little bit more than OK. The side salad tasted of detergent and was sent back, some of the leaves were rancid. The chips had that slightly off smell of old fat, and seemed to have been refried - I didn't like them anyway....

Service left a lot to be desired seemed to take forever to get anyones attention, Was told it was tomato soup and my starter come out as leek and potato. Missing cookery when main meal arrived and had to ask for a fork, and the most horrendous rice pudding i have ever had in all my years if eating out,...

Had a lovely weekend in the hotel over Christmas with family. The staff simply couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were clean. The hotel grounds were stunning. A lovely hotel with great staff and great food. Nothing more needed!
