Second time we have stayed here Nice rooms, great views and a fantastic breakfast Rooms have access to an open plan lounge Hosts are friendly and informative Will definitely stay here next visit to Orkney
We were very pleased with the convenience of location and the comfort of this B & B. The room we had was spacious and bathroom especially so - even had a whirlpool type bath. All was very comfortable and there was also a good communal sitting area on the same level as the bedrooms equipped with tea/coffee making area and a fridge plus computer terminal if you wanted this, but Wi-fi connection was good anyway. Breakfasts were at a set time of 8.30 am which suited us and they were good cooked and/or fresh fruit and cereals. Lovely stay - we would return.
Breakfast was simple Lovely, looked forward to each and every day with a selection of cake on arrival & on return in the evenings, Kathy and Keith are so attentive to your needs without intrusion but always on hand being an absolute pleasure to stay with, our room was a very good size with great views, Kathy has certainly well thought out travelers needs with every thing you would reasonable wish for and more, Very well thought out, it is lovely and quiet with nature at your doorstep, the morning chorus of birds singing is lovely to wake up to, check out Kathy's pet seagull a character for sure this one, Daily local printout of information activities tidal information etc every morning to help you make your plans for the day, I cant think of anything we had to ask for apart from some additional information, and with Keith being a Local Orcadian and Kathy so knowledgeable you have no worries, Thank you both for making our short stay with you so pleasurable, a wonderful Island Orkney looking forward to returning again as this had been our first visit. We booked for Nine nights and wished we had stayed longer being our ONLY regret…
We stayed at the Westrow Lodge in July 19. It was really excellent, Cathy the owner made us feel very welcome and our room was spacious and comfortable. We were also given tips on where to go and what to see and as this was our first trip to the Orkneys, v helpful. In terms of location it’s close to the ferry to the island of Hoy (recommended but book in advance) but about 10 miles from the two main ferry terminals in Kirkwall or Stromness. Overall highly recommended.
Westrow Lodge is an excellent B&B. I had a large room containing a King Bed and a Queen Bed yet there was still lots of room to move around. Storage space is very generous and the bahtroom provides Jacuzzi Bath with shower. The breakfast is high quality and the house is very clean and well maintained. There is also a common lounge area with a computer. Kathy and Keith are very friendly and helpful hosts and they serve a high quality breakfast in the dining room in their part of the house which as a reault is a very friendly sociable interlude. The property is in the country so it is necessary to drive to reach restaurants but this is a small inconvenience more than offset by the peaceful environment
