We were met on arrival, the chalet was warm, welcoming and very clean. Fantastic range of kitchen equipment along with large fridge/freezer, microwave and full size cooker. The TV was easy to work with freeview available, and the internet was good. The views from the lounge were stunning - watching the clouds move over Hoy, and flocks of geese fly past.

Very nice, well equipped accommodation in a great position to access anywhere in Orkney mainland with ease but still quiet and peaceful. The view from the large bay window across the water to Hoy is truly spectacular and atmospheric. I have stayed in many lovely holiday cottages over the years and I rank this amongst the best. With the Covid worries just now owner Kathy is clearly keen on high standards of hygiene; everything was very clean and orderly.

We had a much needed holiday at Buxa Chalets in this very strange year. The owner Kathy was excellent during booking, greeting us and the follow up. She reassured us that we were still able to travel and stay as the Covid rules changed just before our visit. The chalet was in a lovely setting with beautiful views over Hoy and the large picture windows gave plenty of opportunity to enjoy them. The rest of the accommodation was equally well equipped, warm and comfy. The location is reasonably central so it is easy to get to everywhere on the island but so quiet that wildlife is right on the doorstep - we saw a hare and hen harriers during our stay. We can highly recommend a stay at Buxa, my only criticism is that the website doesn’t really do Buxa Chalets justice.

Thank you so much for your lovely review and I am delighted that we exceeded your exceptions. It is important to me that I personally meet each and every one of my visitors to ensure that they feel welcome and well looked after. These are indeed trying times and everyone is a bit wary and needs that extra bit o reassurance. We hope that you will consider visiting us again when you are looking for another much needed holiday!
